Ellie woke up around noon, only to find Grayson was no longer in the room. Grayson had been up a few hours before. Ellie sluggishly walked out in her pajamas finding Grayson seated on the couch. Her hair was in knots, her shirt was slanted and wrinkled, and one pants leg was higher than the other. Grayson looked up with smile, "Ellie. Looking amazing as always."
"Shut up." She said, plopping next to him, "I slept amazing."
"I could tell by all your snoring." Grayson commented. Ellie rolled her eyes, "I don't snore."
Grayson just let it go. Even when Grayson had recorded her snoring and played it back to her, she insisted it wasn't her.
She turned to look out the window and her eyes immediately widened, "Wait."
Grayson smiled. He was eager for her to wake up, just so she could look out the window.
"Is this LA?" She yelled, turning to Grayson.
He nodded, "Yep. I've got two days off from tour, I thought we could finally enjoy ourselves."
"Oh my god yes-" She exclaimed, then stopping herself, "But- we can't be seen together."
"We can if no one knows it's us." Grayson said slyly, pulling out two full haired wigs and pairs of glasses.
"You didn't." Ellie gasped, taking the orange one from him, placing it on her head, "How do I look?"
"Orange." He replied. Ellie laughed, taking his to place on his head, it was green.
"Oh yeah. Green." Ellie complimented with a satisfied look on her face.
Grayson laughed snatching it off, "Get dressed. We've got a long day ahead of us."
Ellie jumped up, immediately going to get ready. She took a shower, brushed her teeth, threw on jeans and t shirt, along with the wig and glasses.
She exited the bathroom to see Grayson in his disguise too. She laughed, "We look ridiculous."
"Are you kidding me? We're gonna be the center of attention as soon as we hit those streets." Grayson said, grabbing his phone.
"Yeah. Who doesn't notice orange and green haired freaks walking down the sidewalk?" Ellie asked, with a raised eyebrow.
Grayson rolled his eyes, "You ready or what?"
Ellie eagerly jumped up, "Yes, yes, yes."
Ever since Ellie was little, she thought of Los Angeles as the place where celebrities roamed. Every corner would be a celebrity, some sun, a tumblr place to take a picture, and people of all different personalities. She always wanted to come, and now that she was finally there- with Grayson, she couldn't think of anything better.
Almost every minute, she'd take a picture. She didn't have to be discrete because no one knew it was her. She could even take some with Grayson. It almost felt like they were just hanging out- in wigs.
They got to the Hollywood walk of fame, and Grayson took her picture with just about every star she saw.
"Grayson look, it's Leonardo DiCaprio. Get in this one." She said, turning to Selfie mode. Grayson got down with her, and they both gave huge smiles. Through Ellie's DiCaprio stage, Grayson had to bare through reruns of Romeo and Juliet, and Titanic.
After lots of walking around, they went to a restaurant- and Grayson treated her to anything she wanted. The amounts of pictures they were taking were actually countless. Both Grayson and Ellie were having so much fun. They tried exploring every inch before it got dark, which was impossible, but worth hoping for. The street lights came on, and they both walked down the sidewalk.
"Only thing i wish we could've done today was meet a celebrity." Ellie said, looking up at the sky, "That would've been awesome."
"You were with a celebrity all day." Grayson said, flipping the hair from his wig.
Ellie laughed, "One that I didn't know before fame."
Grayson smiled, stuffing his hands into his pocket, "But other than that, everything was cool?"
"Grayson this whole day was amazing. Thank you so much." She said stopping to turn to him, "I wish we could just stay here forever in these ridiculous wigs."
Ellie didn't want to go back to the tour bus. She wanted to stay out here with him, being themselves- without looking like themselves. To them, they'd be all each other needed. Just some freaks in a wig.
"I'm sorry we can't go out like this without looking like cartoon characters." He said, with a small laugh.
"With fame, comes great responsibility." Ellie quoted, tilting her glasses, "Isn't that what Gabby tells you all the time?"
"And Lily." Grayson said, starting to walk again.
Ellie trailed behind, "You never talk about her.- with me."
Grayson lightly sighed, "What do you want me to talk about?"
Ellie didn't really want him to talk about her at all, but if he didn't, she'd stay hooked onto the fact that their just a celebrity couple hooked up by management.
"I don't know, how'd you guys meet?" She asked, now walking beside him.
"I was invited to the premiere of 'rocked' season one. We met up at the after party and I guess after that it just clicked." He answered, showing a small smile, "She was the one that made me feel- not so different from everyone else. When people started to actually know me, treat me differently, she was the only one that made me feel like i was still myself. She gave the do's and don'ts of fame, the ups and downs, and what to expect."
Ellie lightly smiled, "I'm glad you weren't alone."
Grayson looked over to her, looking at her shoes.
"So, what about you? Any relationships?" He asked.
Ellie feared him asking that question, because she knew she didn't have any great love stories to tell.
"I've went on dates, but they weren't anything serious." She replied, "Just a girl and her notebook most of the time."
That made Grayson wonder. Was she alone? Grayson and Ellie met in a group of people. They were all pretty tight knit. Grayson and Ellie grew apart from the group as they started getting closer- so it made sense that she wasn't out partying, having sleepovers, and what not. She wasn't that kind of person. So now, all Grayson could think of was, she was alone. He didn't dare ask about any friendships after he saw the way her expression changed about not having any boyfriends.
"Your notebook has always been apart of you." Grayson commented.
"Yeah." She replied, ending it there.
The only things apart of her, were the notebook- and him. Two things she can't let go of.
They got back to the tour bus around midnight. They removed their wigs and glasses, and put on their pajamas. Instead of going to bed, they met up in the living room for a movie and late night snack.
As the movie played, Ellie kept her eyes glued to the TV, but Grayson kept his eyes glued to her. He couldn't stop imagining what her life was like. While he was touring, meeting fans, spending time with Lily- having the time of his life, she was sitting at home, writing? Although Ellie liked to write, who wants to do that all the time?
In the corner of her eye, Ellie noticed Grayson staring at her. She turned to meet his eyes, "What? Stalker."
"Sorry. Didn't recognize you without your orange hair." He joked. She smiled sitting back, "It's been a long day."
"Did you realize that we haven't hung out, just the two of us in so long?" He asked. Ellie nodded, "I missed this."
Grayson smiled to her, smiling back at him.
Ellie wanted him to kiss her. She just waited for him to lean in, and lay a small kiss on her lips- but he didn't. And she knew he wouldn't. She turned away, looking to the TV, wishing she hadn't thought what she had. It was so wrong, and messed up for her to want Grayson to go behind Lily's back for her. How could she even imagine it? Was she really so selfish that she would take Grayson away from someone he loves? She looked down. The self loathing began.
"It's late. I'm getting kind of tired." She said, starting to stand up, "Thanks again- I'll definitely never forget this day."
He smiled, "Yeah, neither will I."
Ellie disappeared into the back, and Grayson stayed put. He was happy that he could give her a day she would remember. He looked through all the pictures they'd taken today. He was saddened by the fact no one would ever see them. No one would ever see how amazing she was.
