Today was their last day in LA. He had a show later that night, then they'd be off. Ellie woke up early, leaving the bus to take photos. She wore her disguise and looked ridiculous, but she knew she couldn't leave without seeing every part.
Grayson woke up worried that she wasn't there, but mike informed him she just went out sight seeing. About an hour later, she returned with a cup of coffee.
Grayson looked up and smiled, "Enjoy your morning?"
"Yeah. I got my steps in for the day." She said, plopping on the opposite couch, "You ready for the show today?"
Grayson nodded. He was always ready for a show.
A knock was heard on the door, and Gabby peaked her head in.
"Hey, guys." She greeted.
Ellie waved happily, Grayson just merely smiled. He didn't want to be mad at her because he knew she was only doing what she thought was right. But what if what she thinks is right- is wrong?
"Gonna be a hyped show tonight. Ready, Gray?" Gabby asked. He nodded, not looking up at her.
Ellie stared to him oddly. Gabby sighed, "I'll see you at rehearsal."
With that, she left. She hated Grayson being mad at her- which he usually was. But it's her job. All she can do is try and get the best for him. It's all she wants.
"What was that about?" Ellie asked skeptically.
"We got into a- disagreement yesterday." He answered, "It's nothing big. We always have little arguments about music and career. It always blows over."
"Yikes." Ellie said, standing up, "The tension was almost too uncomfortable."
He laughed, "It's only Gabby. She loves me."
"Don't over estimate yourself." She said, walking to the back. Grayson followed closely behind, "Wanna go get something to eat?"
"Sure. Pass me my wig." She said.
Grayson laughed at her use of words, throwing it over to her. He put his on as she proceeded to wear hers. She took her phone off of the bed and followed Grayson out.
They went to in-n-out which was something Ellie always wanted to try. They ordered and sat outside, getting weird stares from everyone that passed by. Instead of being embarrassed, they laughed.
"Definitely worth it." Ellie said with a mouth full of food. Grayson laughed, "Wow, you're such a lady."
"Thanks, so are you." She snapped back with a twinkle in her eye.
"Ouch." He said, holding his chest as if it physically hurt him. Ellie smiled, wiping the barbecue sauce from the corner of her mouth.
"So. How many more shows do you have?" She asked.
"After this one, it'll be seven." He answered.
"Busy boy." Ellie said, taking a sip of her drink.
For about an hour, they sat talking about the most random things. Exchanging jokes and stories- they both enjoyed themselves.
Moments like this were the ones they never wanted to end.
After throwing their trash away, they walked back to the tour bus.
"What time do you have rehearsals?" Ellie asked as they walked back into the bus.
"Around five. I've still got time." He answered.
Ellie plopped onto the couch, and Grayson plopped right beside her. Soon after, his phone started ringing. It was a FaceTime call from Lily.
He answered, and seconds after Lily's smile appeared on the camera, "Hey baby, hows Cali?" She asked.
"Good. Me and Ellie just got back from in n out." He answered, showing Ellie in the frame.
She smiled waving, "Hi, Lily."
Lily's joy meter dropped. It wasn't like she didn't like Ellie. She seemed like a cool girl but, she didn't her like with Grayson.
"Hey, Ellie." She said with a fake smile, "How are you?"
"I'm good. Cali is amazing." She answered. Lily once again, forced a smile, "That's awesome."
Ellie smiled.
"Anyways, i was just calling to say good luck on your show tonight. Time zones are crazy so here in New York, it's time for you to go on."
Grayson smiled, "Thanks babe."
"You two have fun. Bye." She said, then immediately ending the call.
Ellie then sat up, "Crap. I should've asked her when the premiere date was."
Grayson laughed, "I'm sure they'll announce it soon. You watch rocked?"
"Do i watch it? I praise it." Ellie exaggerated, "It's filled with love, mystery, and drama. My favorite aspects for a film!"
He rolled his eyes, "You're so extra."
"Oh shut up, you love it."
He just sighed, "Ellie it's been two years. I've changed."
They both looked to each other with raised eyebrows before they burst out laughing.
"You're a jokester." She said, standing up from the couch, "Sorry to break it to you but, you're still the same cheeky Jersey boy I fell in love with."
With that, she walked off. Not even realizing what she had said before she said it. Once she got to the back her eyes widened.
"Fuck." She mumbled.
Grayson sat in awe at what she had said. It was unexpected and took him off guard.
Ellie then peaked her head in at him, "Fell. That's past tense."
He laughed, "Gotcha"
She smiled, turning back around.
He let out a small sigh.
Yeah.
Fell.
