Business was officially getting started. Grayson was in the process of planning a world tour. It was bigger than any of his others- and he knew he'd have the best time.
Telling Ellie about it, he inferred she was coming with. Little did he know, Ellie had no intention of coming along. Of course she'd miss him- a lot, but she wasn't the same girl she was before Grayson came. She was taking writing classes, writing a new book, selling out new books, and doing book signings. She thought he knew, except- he didn't.
Grayson then walked in happily, plopping on the couch beside Ellie. She looked up at a paper in his hands, "Oh, more dates?" She asked, taking them from him.
"Yep." He answered, "This is gonna be amazing, I can't wait."
"I'm so happy for you G, this is huge! You really worked hard, baby." She said, kissing his lips softly.
He smiled, peering down at her, "A whole year, Ellie."
She lightly smiled, followed by a sigh, "A long time to be missing you."
He then raised an eyebrow, "You're gonna be with me."
She now sat up, "Where? On tour?"
"Uh, yeah." He answered, "You are gonna be there, right?"
She felt at a loss for words, "Grayson- no I thought you knew I was staying."
"Staying?" He nearly yelled, "Ellie, why- why would you stay? That's an entire year." He emphasized.
"I know." She exclaimed, "Did you seriously not know? I can't go on tour for that long, I actually have things to work forward to here."
"You can't even come for a little?" He asked, "I mean Ellie- it's a year." He repeated.
"I understand that." She urged, "I'm gonna miss you like hell but this is what we wanted, right?"
"I never wanted to be apart from you. I feel like we just got it right, I can't be without you for that long."
"We're stronger than that, don't you think? We'll be fine. It's not like we're breaking up. And it's not like being apart from you is going to change my feelings for you."
"That's not what I'm worried about. We did distance before, and it'd been years since we talked again." He explained, "What if- what if we're not that strong?"
"We are." Ellie pushed, "We worked so hard to finally be together. I'm not letting you go without a fight."
Grayson sighed, "I love you, Ellie."
She then pulled him into a hug, "I love you too, Grayson."
Resting her head on his shoulder she sighed, "Do you remember when we first met? Like- not hung out but, found out about each other's existence?"
He smiled, "Yeah. I could never forget it."Ellie groaned dropping her coffee as the door hit her back from behind.
"Shit." She heard, making her look up.
She sorrily smiled, "Damn it, sorry- I didn't mean to mess up your shoes."
He shook his head, "Nah, it's fine. Sucks for your coffee though."
"Yep. It sure does." She sighed, picking up the now empty cup, "I'll get you some napkins."
"Don't worry about it." He said, "It's all good, seriously, these are old shoes anyway."
"I know I'm just being polite." She laughed.
"Excuse me." Ellie then heard from beside her. It was Grayson. She looked up at him and her heart quite literally skipped a beat. As he looked to her, all he could think about was 'wow. She's beautiful.'
Snapping out of her trance, she acknowledged him, "Shit, yeah I'm totally blocking the entrance." Ellie sighed, moving out of his way, "Watch your step, I spilled something."
"Ethan, did you make her drop her drink?" Grayson asked, now directing his attention to the guy she'd first talked to.
"No, no I'm just clumsy." She cleared up, "I've already taken up so much of you guys' time, I'm just gonna go."
"Wait." Grayson said, not wanting her to leave, "Let me buy you another coffee."
She then shook her head, "Oh, god no. Thank you, but that's really not necessary."
"Hey. I want to." He said. At this moment their eyes locked, and that's when they both knew.
Ethan then intervened, "Yeah. On us. Plus some other people should be coming soon, we can all hang out."
Although Ellie was never one to like being around lots of people, especially ones she didn't know- she wanted to spend time with Grayson.
"I guess that'd be cool. Only if you guys are one hundred percent sure. It's not a big deal."
Grayson lightly smiled, "Come on. It'll be fun."
A small blush formed on her cheek, "Okay."
