You Belong With Me (A Tony Stark fan-fic)

Chapter 1

All the Avengers that could fly, burst in first. Next to come in were Steve, Clint, Natasha and Bruce. They could see her gagged and tied to a chair. They could just barely understand her muffled screams. The girl screamed to them even being gagged "No! No! Its a trap! Leave me here. Save yourselves!" Tears streamed down her face.

"Calm down.. We aren't going to leave you here." Natasha replied.

"Yea and we'll be just fine.. we're the Avengers." Steve said looking towards the girl, happy she was ok.

"Look kid.." Tony said untying her gag and letting her free from the chair. "It's our job to save you and as of right now, basically all of New York."

The girl rolled her eyes and huffed. "I'm not a kid."

Suddenly, a mess of green, gold and black swished in front of them. The girl started to shake and she was getting even more nervous as the clock ticked. The gold horns of who they called Loki became too close for comfort when Loki picked up the innocent girl by the neck. She gasped for air, none coming in, as she watched around her. Darkness clouding her vision.

"Let her go!" Clint yelled out to Loki.

"And why would I ever do that?" He retorted, a smirk emerging onto his face. "I have an army."

"Because..." Steve replied not coming up with an answer.

"We have a hulk!" Tony yelled out.

Loki's grip tightened on the girl, her face becoming almost purple. The darkness clouding her vision had almost taken over when she saw the hulk bust in and heard Natasha yell. Loki dropped her but she knew she'd faint in a matter of seconds.

"Stark take her somewhere safe!" Natasha yelled. And with that she fainted. Tony picked her up and flew her to the first place he thought of; the Helicarrier. When he got there he searched desperately for Fury, especially because the girl had stopped breathing. Her chest was no longer heaving up and down.

"FURY!! FURY!!" Tony yelled, his suit's mask lifted.

"Mr. Stark what's goin--" Maria Hill asked startled.

"Maria." Tony yelled. "WHERE IS FURY??"

"In his office sir.." Maria stated getting a little frightened. "Is everything alright?"

"Maria, I'm holding a girl I don't know who was captured by Loki and is now not breathing, so NO! EVERYTHING IS NOT OK!" Tony yelled running towards Fury's office.

"Oh.." Maria mumbled, even though Tony was long gone from where he was standing. Tony ran to Fury's office, careful not to drop the girl. Her long brown hair flying around as he ran. He noticed why she wasn't breathing; as he was flying up to the helicarrier she must've been shot by one of Loki's alien things.. she had three deep holes in her chest. He reached Fury's office and half kicked the door down. He and Agent Coulson were obviously startled when Tony busted into the room.

"FURY!!" Tony yelled.

"What is it Stark? You're supposed to be fighting!!" Fury yelled back.

"No shiz Sherlock!" Tony replied with a sarcastic tone. "This girl was being held captive as bait for Loki.."

"Go on.." Fury stated as he looked to the girl in Tony's arms.

"She was just unconscious when I was flying here, because Loki had choked her." Tony managed to get out. "And now she's not breathing.. She was shot by one of his alien things."

"Do you know who she is?" Fury questioned.

"No, but I know only one way to save her." Tony said. Fury nodded and both of them completely forgot Agent Coulson was standing right there. With that, Tony took the girl down to the Helicarrier lab as fast as he could. She still wasn't breathing. "Damn, I really hope she's still alive." Tony muttered. "Jarvis! Get me the Arc Reactor I was saving if something ever happened to Pepper!!"

"Here you are Sir." Jarvis replied as a mechanical arm handed the Arc Reactor to Tony. Fury wasn't happy about it but, yes, Tony had set up Jarvis in the Helicarrier lab.

Tony was working for a few minutes to get the Arc Reactor to power he then hooked it up to the magnet he placed within the girl. "I now see why Pepper didn't like to do this." Tony muttered. The Arc Reactor was finally in place and glowing in the girls chest. Now he waited. She awoke within an hour; an hour in which Tony had believed she was dead. She awoke suddenly and obviously sat up too fast for her body to adjust to..

"Where am I?" she stuttered. Looking around, she realized suddenly what had happened.

"You're in the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier." Tony replied.

"Why aren't you fighting Loki? Are the others ok? Wait.. I was dead.. Why am I not dead??" the girl asked.

"To save you. Don't know and again I saved you." Tony replied in a duh kind of tone. "And before I answer anymore questions. Can I know your name?"

"Maya. Maya Stone." she replied putting her hand out for him to shake. He took her hand and shook it.

"Tony Stark."
