The Death

The next morning Jared woke up. He didn't have any dream with Hades. He wanted to talk to Hades to see if he was making you Pedro's mother sick. As much as Jared called Hades name he wouldn't appear. He gave up and went down to eat some breakfast. His mother made oatmeal and then they decided to go back to the hospital to see how Pedro's mother was doing.

At the hospital Pedro's mother was not doing well at all. She couldn't even speak now and she couldn't stand up. She also didn't remember Pedro and she didn't remember Jared and his mother. The doctors said that they still couldn't figure out what was wrong with her. They did all the tests they could do. They figured that Pedro's mother would not have that much time left.

Jared and his mother were really sad and Pedro was a special he said that his mother couldn't remember him and that he was going to lose his mother. Right then and there Pedro had a feeling that this had to do with what was happening to Jared. He yelled at Jared damanding to know if anything else had happened to him. Jared decided to tell Pedro what Hades told him. Jared said to Pedro, "Let's go to the waiting room in."

When Jared and Pedro got to the waiting room, Pedro said, "tell me what Hades has told you recently." Jared told Pedro that Hades said that if he didn't go to hell with him, then someone would have to die. Pedro was distraught, but at the same time, he didn't want to lose Jared. He started to realize it's not Jared's fault. Pedro told Jared that he was sorry for yelling him; he was just upset about his mother dying. Jared said to him that he understood.

After two hours of being in the waiting room, the doctor came to the waiting room and told Pedro and Jared to go into Pedro's mother's room. Pedro's mother finally remembered Pedro, Jared, and Jared's mother. Pedro was pleased. However, his mother felt that she would die soon. Pedro was sad again. Pedro's mother said to Pedro that she loved him and told Jared that she knew that this was not his fault and to not worry about it.

Pedro's mother kissed Pedro; she took her last breath and then she was gone. Pedro was in tears hugging his mother. Jared went over to Pedro and hugged him. Pedro did not want to be alone, so Jared and Jared's mother stayed with him for a while. Then Jared's mother knew that Pedro could not live by himself, so she asked Pedro if he wanted to live with Jared and her and Pedro said, "Yes."

Pedro, Jared, and Jared's mother went back to Jared's house and had lunch, grilled cheese. The grilled cheese comforted Pedro. Jared was happy that Pedro was living with him and Jared's mother, however, he knew that Pedro's mother dying was Hades doing. He wanted to figure out a way to talk to Hades. Jared brought Pedro to the guest room so Pedro could settle in.

Jared went to his room. He kept thinking about what had happened. Even though it wasn't his fault, he knew that he had to fix it. Jared tried calling Hades one more time, and Hades appeared in Jared's room. Jared just looked at Hades furiously, and Hades said, "I told you someone would have to die." Jared was feeling very brave and tried to punch Hades in the stomach. Hades back up before Jared could punch him and said, "Now is that how you treat your father?" Jared yelled at Hades, "You are not my father!"

Hades had a proposition for Jared; Hades said, "Come live with me in hell, and I will bring back Pedro's mother alive and healthy. Pedro and his mother would not remember anything that happened." Jared said, "How do I know that you will bring her back." Hades said, "you have to trust me." Jared asked Hades, "why would I trust you?!" Hades told Jared, "well you want to bring back Pedro's mother so you should trust me to know that I am going to do the right thing."

Hades disappeared without saying anything else, and Jared was scared. He didn't know what to do. Again, he didn't want to leave his mother and Pedro. However, Jared wanted Pedro to have his mother back. He went to tell Pedro what Hades had told him. Pedro thought that he would love to have his mother again. However, he did not want to lose his friend Jared. They both just sat in Pedro's new room thinking what they could do about the situation.
