Third Person POV

In the beginning, there was nothing.

War and famine and scandal across the land.

But, in the beginning, there was hope.

The Kenobi family was small, nothing bigger than a medium sized dining table. Of the father and mother lived a young boy and a baby girl. Obi and (Y/N). Only a few years apart, they were, one looking over the other in any case of danger on their home planet Stewjon.

Obi-Wan grew up a working son. Always keeping his head out of the clouds. The pilots that flew above their small home always seemed to damper his feelings for the sky. "I hate flying," the young Obi-Wan would mumble under his breath while helping his father with the outside work. "Leave them be, Obi," his father would hush to him, chucking while giving the boy a pat on his shoulder. Not that he didn't have a love for the sky, the sounds, and thoughts of multiple things going wrong always frightened him.

When Obi-Wan was 10, (Y/N) had turned 5. She loved to run around the house in search of things to mess with. She was an adventurer. She would run from one room to the next, outside into the yard when-

"(Y/N)!" her mother would yell from the window. Obi would shake his head while catching the small girl to bring her inside for what would seem to be the seven hundredth time. "You'll get yourself into even more trouble if you keep doing that," Obi-Wan would speak quietly holding the little girl to his chest tightly. She would giggle in response, only understanding what fun was, not confinement or respect or patients. "Yes Obi," she spoke in her cute little voice and the boy would smile back. He sat her on the doorstep and rubbed the top of her head. "Go on," he'd say.

She'd run off.

Night had fallen onto the village. The stars shined with twinkling lights. They grew brighter in the sky and lit the house into a dreamland. The children slept peacefully without any disturbance.

Until then...

Bursts of light grew in sound in the sky. Yellows, greens, reds, everywhere... Starships soon came into sight of the sky and it seemed that the stars no longer shined in their place. Ships were shot out of the sky, falling into the outskirts of the village, pieces of the wreckages falling into the village area. Soon enough, smaller aircraft's would land around the village. The men that came out of them were too hard to see due to the darkness of the night sky. But they glew off of the light of what was in their hands. Colors of blue and green and white and orange and purple lit up their robes. "Move out! Stay close," someone yelled in a deep voice. Blaster sounds soon followed, being deflected but what was held in the men's hands.

Obi-Wan jumped from his slumber state and instinctively looked out of his window. He watched as the colors flew across the village grounds. His mother and father ran into his and (Y/N)'s room. But to him, everything was seen in slow motion. He couldn't hear anything his parents were saying. He was watched as his mother picked (Y/N) up from her bed holding her tightly in her arms. His father pulled on his hand out of his room. The family ran down the hall of their village home, only to be stopped when two imperial troops stormed into their front living space.

"Hands in the air!" One of them spoke, both of them raising their blasters in their hands.

The Kenobi's refused. Obi-Wan's father let go of his son's hand and protested to the troopers. Only to the devastating event of which he feared. His mother almost dropped (Y/N) to cover her mouth while she screamed, Obi catching her and holding her to his chest while backing away. She dropped to the floor to morn over the loss of her once husband and father to her children. But in her worst mistakes, this was, she too received what he had gotten. "Come back here!" A trooper yelled, but Obi-Wan had one thing on his mind to do. Run. And that was what he did. he ran into the back of the house into the must covered and secretive spot he could find, hiding his sister first. He hid with her and covered their mouths, trying not to give themselves away. He held the girl close listening to the men after them.

"Where did they go?" "Come out of hiding!" They conversed. "They escaped, let's go back to the ship. My Lord," One of them spoke, a blue light now shining in the room they were, "The homes are cleared." "Very well," A horse deep voice spoke over the hologram.

Their conversation was short. The boy waited until the troopers had left, slowly and carefully getting out of their hiding spot. He listened to (Y/N)'s cries and hushed her. "Don't worry," Obi was quiet, "I'll protect you." He smiled at her and she clung to him tightly.

"I won't leave you, (Y/N), I promise," he spoke quietly.

And thus, in the beginning, there was hope.
