Third Person POV
(Y/N) had grown up under the influence of the Senate and the Royal family. She had become the young apprentice for the Queen, following in her footsteps. She dressed in the fancy attire, headdresses and suitable ballgowns fit for a Dutchess. The power of politics had grown on her. She feared the meetings and arguments over how the Republic should establish its laws and crimes. Who was attacking the Senate? Why do these threats keep occurring? She hated politics, wanting to leave the council to be free on her own. (Y/N) hadn't seen her brother in ten years. So long ago, she could only remember the smile he gave her before he left. What he had said to her. "I will never leave you, (Y/N). I promise." And he was gone. She grew to overcome the lonely feeling of not seeing her brother. She had forgotten his looks, his smell, his voice. She missed him, but the feeling had become forbidden to her. She couldn't allow these things to get to her. It only slowed her down.
Obi-Wan had become his dream. A Master Jedi. After his heroic acts, he had been granted the rank of Master and accepted to the council of Jedi Temple. He and his young apprentice have been through hell and back in training and battle. He made a promise to keep the republic safe, his Padawan safe, his sister... safe. And it was and always will be a promise to keep.
Those ten years had passed. (Y/N) and the Senator were in their apartment of the Jedi Temple, waiting for their Jedi guards to arrive.
(Y/N) POV
Today is the day.
Today is the day that my 'knight in shining armor' comes to protect me. There is no point. I don't understand why the Chancellor feels that we need the extra protection. I am able to protect myself. I think...
"Milady," I spoke coming to sit next to the Senator. "I told you to call me Padme, (Y/N). There is no need to call me that here," she smiled pushing my hair behind my ear. She was sweet and tender. Always cared for the smallest and most delicate things. She had become my best friend. "Right, sorry," I smiled looking to my lap. "Padme- Who are these Jedi guards?" I asked in my softest voice possible. She looked at me with curiosity. It was as if she herself did not know who they were. "It is hard to say, young one. The King has said it is someone my uncle is very close to. I do not believe I know him, but I feel we will be in good hands no matter what." Padme spoke gently to me, squeezing my hand softly. Our attendant, Jar Jar, came into view. "My lady, izza Jedi here," he spoke in his cheery voice. "Thank you, Jar Jar," Padme smile, standing up straight and patted her dress down. I followed her actions, smoothing my dress out and fixing my hair to my shoulder.
Jar Jar came back from the entrance room that held the elevator. "Obi! Obi! Obi! Mesa sooo smilen to see'en yousa. Wahoooooo!"
Obi-Wan smiled patting Jar Jar on his shoulder. "It's good to see you, too, Jar Jar," he said walking with him to the living area.
Padme and I stood there waiting for them to enter. I had a strange feeling about this. Padme, though, was calming my nerves. It was good to have someone in the room that I knew of.
"Lookie lookie, My Lady, izza Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi." My heart fell into a pit of yearning. My face froze with both fear and sorrow. I knew he'd come back...
"Senator," Obi-Wan bowed, as well as he Padawan. "It's a great pleasure to see you again, milady."
"It has been far too long Master Kenobi. I'm so glad our paths have crossed again... but I must warn you that I think your presence here is unnecessary," Padme spoke. "I'm sure the Jedi Council have their reasons," Obi-Wan spoke moving into the room. "Annie?" Padme looked behind the bearded man to see the young Padawan smile. "My goodness, you've grown." "So have you, more beautiful, I mean... Much shorter.... for a senator, I mean, " he responded. She giggled with the brightest smile I had ever seen. "Oh Annie, you'll always be that little boy I knew on Tatooine."
"I assure you our presence will be invisible, milady," Obi-wan spoke.
" I don't need more security, I need answers. I want to know who is trying to kill me."
"We are here to protect you, milady. Not start an investigation."
"We will find who is trying to kill you, Padme. I promise you," Anakin interjected.
"Excuse me, Padawan. You can not make promises you are sure to not keep." I spoke up. Who is this kid? Why did he have to make himself known? He stared at me intensely, I thought lasers would start coming from his eyes.
"Excuse me, Master Kenobi, this is my apprentice, (Y/N)," Padme motioned me. Obi-Wan looked me over with tears in his eyes. He knows not to show emotion, come on Obi... "It is an honor," I bow to them, coming back up with a small smile playing my lips. The boy beside Obi gave me an eye of a look, which I coldly returned. "The pleasure is ours. I assure you, Senator, we will not fail you." Obi-Wan spoke, a grin on his lips.
"Perhaps with merely your presence the mysteries surrounding this threat will be revealed. Now if you'll excuse me, I must retire," Padme spoke quietly. She walked off past the two men to her room across the living area. One of the handmaids followed to help her change from evening to night attire.
I sat on the ice white couch that had been behind me, taking a large sigh of relief. "She didn't even recognize me, I've thought about her every day since-" "She is a very prestigious Senator. She has no time for fantasy, I assure you," I cut the boy off. He glared at me. Obi-Wan shook his head from the boy's comment. "You're thinking of the negatives again, Anakin. Be mindful of your thoughts. I'm sure she is happy to see us," he said. I stood after he spoke and raised a great voice towards Anakin, "Be grateful for this opportunity, Padawan."
And with that, I turned towards my room. "I must retire," I said looking behind my shoulder with a touch of pain. I knew Obi-Wan sensed it.
I walked away.
