The second the words left that man's mouth, the entire restaurant froze. A few people ran for the exit, but he aimed his gun around and they all stopped their mad dash.

"Nobody's leaving until I get what I've come for, you hear?" he says. I refrain from rolling my eyes, knowing this common thug could be tied down in a minute-- if I wanted everyone to know I was Fox. But seeing as I was stuck in my usual civilian clothes, I had no way to help. So I did the only thing I could.

I took out all the money from the register.

I knew the second the bills left the register, the silent alarm would be triggered and someone would come to our aid, whether it be the police or the mighty Batman. The thug aimed his gun at my head as he collected the cash and stuffed it into the bag.

"Now the other registers" he orders and I comply, moving to the next register and opening it, just to clean it out and hand it to the man. As I move to the next one, I see Andrew's scared gaze meet mine and then I catch Mr. Wescott's horrified one through the window of his office. By the time the fourth and final register is cleaned out, the sound of sirens is heard in the distance.

"Who called the cops?" The man shouted, aiming his gun around the crowded restaurant. Everybody immediately ducks down under the weapon, as if that would save them. I keep silent, desperately trying to hide the sinister sneer from my face, but I guess the old mice running his brain finally sped up.

"You activated the silent alarm didn't you?" he said. My muteness seems to answer for me as he grabs me by the hair and drags me over the counter. Wincing in pain, I feel the cool metal of the gun pressed against my temple as he holds me to his sweaty body. I can hear Andrew take a sharp intake of breath beside me as many other customers gasp at the new hostage situation.

"Guess this little upstander needs to be taught when to just go with things" He says out loud. I hear the click of the gun's safety turn off and I wince slightly, squeezing my eyes shut. Grinding my teeth at my inability to help myself, I wait as the wailing of the sirens gets closer. But before that, something else happens.

"Release the girl" A cold voice comments from behind. My eyes shoot open in shock, pupils dilated as the robber jolts around, towing me with him. I open my eyes to find Batman in all his dark, gothic glory standing poised in front of us, glaring down the robber. I narrow my eyes. Wherever one goes, the other has to follow...

Just as I think that, another voice comments from behind, cuasing he to close my eyes and inhale sharply "I recommend you listen to him" Robin states and the man turns his head to see the Boy Wonder himself with his arms crossed.

"So the Dynamic Duo's here to stop me..." He says with a sigh. But he presses the gun harder into my temple, causing me to flinch "But I do have the advantage" he comments.

"I won't ask again, release her" Batman says.

"Not if that puts me in jail" the thug says and I sigh. Always playing the dumb one in thinking he could get away with this.

"Either you end up in jail for armed robbery, or armed robbery and murder. Your call" Batman says in his monotonous voice that sends chills up my spines. And I thought heroes were supposed to be dressed in bright, cheery clothes.

He looks conflicted for a moment, looking back and forth between Robin and Batman and then down at me. Before he gets the option, I decide to step in.

I yank my head back, connecting the back of my head to his chin. he cries in pain and releases me, faltering back as I run to the right, jumping over the counter only to duck underneath. He raises his hands and Batman chucks a batarang, sending the weapon clattering to the floor. The thug clutches his nose in pain as Robin runs up behind and kicks his backside, sending him to the ground before attaching handcuffs around his arms.

Proud of my work, I turn to see Andrew crouching behind the counter beside me, looking at me with wide, fear filled eyes.

"Wow that was..."

"Spur of the moment. Wow" I say, allowing myself to tear up and hyperventilate. Andrew comes close and wraps his arms around me for comfort just as the police bust in.

"We'll handle things from here, Batman" I hear the familiar voice of Commissioner Gordon and I sigh, already predicting the havoc and onslought of questions to come. Sighing, I pulled away from Andrew and stand up to face the intruding officers. Flashing lights and cold metal cameras already suggest that it's going to a long night.

Yay I updated! Sorry I didn't do this earlier, I got sucked into another fandom and have read about 15 books right now for it. Too bad I still have to finish 3 books and their reports by Wednesday *sigh* just give me the award for Procastination.

Anywaaaaaaaaays, I'm thinking of writing another book just because I love that fandom so much but I still have this book and Things Change. I may just delete The Unlucky One because I honestly have no more inspiration for it even though the plot's completely mapped out.

Anyways, a Happy Hamburger if you can guess my latest addiction.

On a different note, I've grown an addiction to Japanese music, hence the video on the *takes a moment to think about what side* RIGHT side of the page. Yep that's it...

Anyways, i'm on the JV tennis team now for my school (London voice: Yay me!) and I officially start school on Wednesday, sooooo... I don't even want to finish that sentence because I'm gonna cry.

If you actually read this Author's Note or my actual story, hugs and love to you because I know how much they both suck right now. I'm exhausted from tennis and I kinda just wanna curl up and die. But I still have 3 400 page books to read... And now I'm just trying to add more words to this so... bye!
