chapter 11

❀Mackenzie POV❀

I woke up next to Matt. Why is he here? Oh he probably stayed the night to make me feel better. It made me feel better some but I am still sad. My dad always used to greet me in the morning and I liked that. I started to cry. Matt woke up and I hurried and wiped my tears.

"morning babe." he smiled.

"mornin" I fake smiled.

"c'mon , do a real smile.." he said.

"I cant.." I said and started to have tears.

"I am sorry.." he said.

"no it's okay." I said putting my head under my pillow.

"lift up this pillow.." he said.

"no" I mumbled.

"oh yea did you pack your bag for magcon today?" He asked.

"no! oh shoot!!!" I screamed.

"it's okay.. we don't leave for 3 hours." he said hugging me.

"well I got to take a shower!" i said.

"okay then take one!" he said.

"I will.." I said.

So I turned on my shower and walked out of my bathroom and picked out some clothes. I went in the bathroom and shut the door. I took off my clothes and hopped in. The hot water pouring on my skin felt nice. I washed my hair and my body and face and got out. I dried off with my towels and put on my clothes. I put on a crop top and high waisted shorts. I brushed my hair as then dried it. I straightened my hair a little and put on some mascara. I walked out and started to pack.

"need help?" Matt asked.

"no.. my dad would always get me Starbucks at this time.." I said with a tear dripping from my eye.

"I will get you some.." he said.

"no that's okay , Matt." I said. No reply. I looked at my bed and he wasn't there. I looked out my window and he drove off. Awe he is so sweet. I started putting clothes in my suitcase. I walked over to my outlet with my phone was charging and it was on 100% so I unplugged it and put my charger in my suitcase. I walked to my bathroom. I grabbed my soap and my mascara and walked out and put it in my suitcase. I put my vans , American eagle flip flops , Aeropostale flip flops , and Hollister flip flops and some converse in my suitcase. I went in my bathroom and grabbed my hair brush and straightener and put it in my bag. I zipped up my suitcase and I went on my bed and turned on my TV. I don't eat breakfast. I get a Starbucks and a cinnamon bun.

❖Matt POV❖

I arrived at Starbucks and I walked in. There was a line so I hopped in line. I saw this girl checking me out. I gave her a look. She looked away. I was up in line and the cashier asked me what I would like.

"I will have a cinnamon bun and a double chocolate chip frappe please."

"okay that will be $11.50 please." he said.

I handed him the money. Then he gave them to me with the cinnamon bun in the bag. I walked out and got in my car and drove to Kenzie's house. I walked in and walked to her room. I walked in and she was scrolling through Instagram.

"Here you go!" I said.

"Matt! You didn't have to!!" she said.

"yes I did. I wanted to. and did u get your bag packed.?" I asked.

"yes I did." she said.

"okay now eat!" I said.

"I already did. I just need to drink my frappe." she said.

"okay we leave in 10 minutes." I said.

"wow time went fast.." she said.

"it did." I said.

I decided not to tell her about the girl who was looking at me at Starbucks. Why does her dad have to die right before magcon? I hope nothing happens when we are gone.

"okay let's get your stuff in my car." I said.

"okay." she said.

I picked up her suitcase and walked out.

"Matt you don't have to take that!" she said.

❀Mackenzie POV❀

I walked downstairs and I saw my mom drinking coffee and I walked over to her and hugged her.

"bye mom , I love you." I said.

"bye honey I love you." she said.

I walked outside and Matt was waiting out there.

"oh shoot! hold on I need to say goodbye to my brother!" I said.

"okay" he said.

I walked in the house and walked into Kevin's room. He was watching TV.

"bye Kevin. I love you!" I said giving him a hug.

"bye little sis! Be safe." he said. I rolled my eyes.

I ran down the stair and out to Matt's car. He had the door opened for me.

"thanks."

"no problem." he said.

I hopped in and closed the door and buckled up. I texted Miranda.

me: are you on your way?
Miranda: yea u?
me: yep!
Miranda: okay I can't wait!!
me: same!

I locked my phone and it was silent. Matt turned on the radio and it was me & my dad's favorite song. A tear was falling from my eye. I wiped it. Matt saw me. He changed the station ad he turned on trumpets. That was one of my favorite songs. I sang it in my head. We arrived at the airport and Matt's mom was going to pick up his car later. We walked in the airport and we can board the plane. Me and Matt sat next to each other and I fell asleep on his shoulder.

❖Matt POV❖

I looked over and Kenzie was asleep on my shoulder. It was so cute. We landed and I woke her up. It was 10:00pm and we were tired so we went to our hotel room and went right to sleep.
