chapter 1

❀Mackenzie POV❀

As I walked into school Matt walked up to me. We were best friends.

"Hey, Kenzie wanna hangout with me today after school?" Matt asked.

"sure."

"where at?" I asked.

"it's a surprise."

I walked to my last class and smiled.

"why so smiley?" My best friend Mallory asked.

"because Matt asked me-" she cut me off.

"MATT ASKED YOU OUT?!" she screamed.

"no.." I said blushing.

"oh."

"well he asked me to hangout tonight."

"yeah..? you guys are best friends.." she said.

"no. he usually tells me where. but he said its a surprise."

"oh my goshhh!!" she screamed in surprise.

**at home**

I got in the shower and washed my hair and face and all of that. I got out and dried my hair and straightened it. I put on a crop top and hollister shorts. I looked at the time and it was 3:54. I texted Matt and told him I was ready.

me: I'm ready
Matt: I am in your driveway.
me: okay

I locked my screen. I wonder why he was already in the driveway. Oh well. I walked out and he got out and hugged me. I of course hugged him back. He is so cute I want him. But I don't think he loves me like that. I sighed of sadness.

"what's wrong?" he asked.

"oh nothing" I lied.

"okay" he said.

He opened up the car door for me and I smiled and he smiled back. His smile. It could make the world so happy. When I see his smile it would make me happy any day.

"thanks" I smiled.

he smiled at me.

❖Matt POV❖

Kenzie is adorable. Whenever I try to talk to her I always feel like I mess up. But to her she doesn't laugh she just smiles. I am glad we became friends. I want to ask her out but I don't think she even loves me like that. We arrived at the zoo. I remember when we were little kids and we always used to come here. It was so fun.

"Matt?! Oh my gosh! thanks." she said.

"for what?"

"for bringing me here!" she said.

"don't thank me." I smiled.

"I love your smile." she blushed. She turned away. I turned her and smiled and kissed her.

"oh I am sorry" I said walking away blushing.

"no Matt come back" she said.

I walked back. She was fake pouting.

"turn around" she said. So I turned around and she jumped on my back.

"off to the animals" she said pointing her finger to the entrance to the zoo.

**after the zoo**

❀Mackenzie POV❀

We jumped in the car. It was 5:30. Wow I am getting hungry.

"Matt I am getting hungry" I said.

"where do you wanna go?" he had eyes like he wanted subway.

"finee. we will get subway, but we go through the drive through" I said.

"fine." he said.

We arrived at subway and we ordered. We ate at Matt's house.

"thanks Matt" I said.

"no problem" he smiled.

"well I gotta go. see ya tomorrow at school" I smiled.

"no don't leave now. Plus we don't have school tomorrow." Matt whined.

"true." I laughed.

"stay" he begged.

"fine I will text my mom." I said.

"yay!!" he said jumping up and down.

He started to blush. I started laughing.

"don't laugh at me" he pouted.

"shhh I am on the phone." I giggled.

"so?" he asked.

I frowned. "She said no."

He had sad eyes. And he walked to his room.

"I am just kidding!!" I yelled.

He came storming out of his room. He came and hugged me. Then he looked at me and frowned.

"what?" I asked.

"don't do that to me." he said.

"I'm sorry. Let's watch a move" I said.

"okay." he said.

We were watching the movie and I fell asleep in Matt's arms..
