chapter 3

❀Mackenzie POV❀

I woke up and looked at the time, it read 10:28. Wow I slept that late. Today is my birthday and me and Matt have something planned. Well just that we are hanging out today. I got a text from Matt.

Matt: you ready to come over?

Me: no i need to get ready i just woke up.

Matt: okay (:

I locked my screen and picked out my favorite crop top and American Eagel shorts. I brought my clothes in and turned on the shower and i took off my clothes and hopped in. I washed everything and got out and dried my hair and curled it. I put on mascara and grabbed my white American eagle flip flops and walked out. I texted Matt.

Me: ready

Matt: okay i am walking down i am almost there.

me: okay

I dont know why but when i am around Matt i get butterflies. I really like him. He probably doesn't like me back.

"hey Kenzie!" Matt yelled. He had a box in his hand.

"hey, Matt. What's that?" I asked.

"something for you.." he said.

"I told you not to!" I said.

"I didn't listen. Now here open it." he said. I opened it and my mouth dropped.

"your taking me to Magcon?!!!" I yelled excitedly.

"yeah why wouldn't I? Your my best friend. And I love you. As a friend" he said blushing. I blushed.

"Let's go somewhere." he said.

"where?" I asked.

"your choice. it is your birthday." he said. He is so sweet.

"no it's fine. you pick." I said.

"no!" he said.

"fine let's go to the mall." I said. It's only 4 blocks away so we can walk there.

"good idea. I was hopping you would say that." Matt laughed. Matts laugh, oh my gosh. I am in love.

"where do you want to go Matt? You pick a store this time." I said.

"hmmm. Starbucks we go!!" he said. He got a Cotton Candy frappe and I got a Vanilla Bean frappe. I handed the cashier the money but Matt took it away. He wouldn't let me pay. After he paid he gave me my money back.

"no keep it. you paid for it." I said.

"no! it's your birthday!" he said.

"Matt I am not taking it!" I said.

"fine I will put it in your pocket then." he said.

"fine." I said taking it out of his hands and putting it in my back pocket.

"where do we go next?" Matt asked me.

"hmm.. , hollister!" I said.

Matt bought everything that I wanted. When we got out of the store I pecked his cheek. He blushed and I blushed. So we went out the doors of the mall and started walking home. I got a text from Mal.

Mal: happy birthday!!!
me: thanks (:

I checked my Instagram and I had 10 photos of me and like 20 comments on each of those photos. They were happy birthday comments.

"So wanna go to my house or yours?" Matt asked.

"mine." I said. Today is Saturday so we can have a bonfire.

"okay." he said.

"hey wanna have a bonfire at my house?" I asked.

"sure. as long that there is no alcohol." he said serious.

"no , no , no. none of that I promise." I said.

I will text my mom.

me: hey can I have a little bonfire for myself because it's my birthday?
mom: yes. but I am going to a business dinner tonight and then going to a hotel cuz it's in West Virginia.
me: okay mom thanks.

"my mom said yes." I said.

"okay great!" he said smiling.

"I will text people." I said.

"okay." he said.

So I texted everyone. They all can come. So me and Matt straightened up my house a little so it would look nice. My mom came downstairs.

"bye honey I will see you tomorrow at about 11ish or 12ish." she said.

"okay mom. have fun love you" I said.

"love you too." she said.

"so what do you want to do now for the past 4 hours?" Matt asked.

"I don't know? Watch movies?" I suggested.

"sure." he smiled. He put in my favorite movie.

We sat down and he put his arm around my neck. I blushed but I liked it. I put my head on his shoulder. And he looked down in my eyes and smiled. His brown eyes twinkle and it's so adorable. He turned away and watched the movie. My smiled faded. I heard knocking on the door. I got up and opened the door. One by one everyone came in. It was Hayes, Mal, Ava, Cam, Nichole, Taylor, and people from school. Matt was sitting on the couch and I saw Samantha smirk at Matt. I got a little mad but I got over it. Then Nash walked in before I closed the door holding hands with Savannah. I smiled. This is going to be a fun night but I don't know why I invited Samantha and her little group.
