Tender Boy

~ Chapter 1 ~

With the encouragement of of Jimin and V, J-Hope jumped off the couch BTS were all crowded on, stood with his back to the members and bowed his head. As the boys all quietened down he started to turn, dipping slightly with his hips, and looked up. Suga choked on his iced tea as J-Hope made eye contact with him and licked his bottom lip, ending with a wink. All the members cracked up in fits of laughter barring Suga; he was, at that moment, bent over coughing with a bright red face.

Jimin held his hand out toward J-Hope, and pulled the man into a chest bump, "Dude, you nailed it. Told you it would shock dear old grandpa over here." cheered Jimin, nudging Suga with his foot.

Suga's hand grabbed the foot by the ankle and Jimin's face visibly paled as he realized what was coming. A swift tug and a yelp from Jimin presented Suga sitting on Jimin's back smugly.

Suga ruffled Jimin's hair and he sighed, "Jiminnie honestly, when will you learn? You can't mess with the great Min Yoongi," he chuckled as he peeked at Jimin's pouting face, "I'm just superior, sorry."

Jimin escaped Suga's hold and brushed himself off, "Sorry Hyung but your reaction was priceless, I couldn't stop myself" He giggled as he sat back onto the couch next to J-Hope and busied himself taking turns recreating the face Suga made.

Suga rolled his eyes at the behavior and glanced around attempting to locate the iced tea he had abandoned earlier.

V spotted his opportunity and jumped into the small opening between J-Hope and Jimin, his arm wrapped around Hoseok's shoulder and he locked eyes with Jimin and grinned. He pulled out his phone and unlocked the screen bringing forth picture after picture of Suga's reaction frame by frame in high definition.

The room exploded in laughter as the image of Suga choking appeared and the worldwide Kpop group known as BTS were reduced to rolling around on the floor clutching their stomachs in hysterics.

Rap Monster was the first to recover. He sat up and wiped the tears out of his eyes and signaled the rest of the members to calm down. When it was quiet enough he cleared his throat, "Guys, we need to be presentable for when PD-nim comes to tell us what's up with this 'urgent' meeting. Come on, up we get."

Everyone, including Suga, had grins plastered onto their face while they returned to the couch in their living room.

"What do you think it is?" questioned Jin.

Namjoon turned slightly, "I'm not too sure but he seemed... excited?"

"Ohh! Do you think we're going back to America?" suggested an excited Jungkook, "I loved it over there, it's only been a week and I want to see it again..."

The members murmured their agreements and when they heard the door click a few minutes later they all jumped up and turned around eager to find out what the secret was.

PD-nim was taken aback by the enthusiasm and laughed as the members suddenly burst into questions about the meeting. He strode into the Bangtan dorms and stood in front of them silencing them immediately with a raise of his hand.

"Now boys, what I am about to tell you is going to shock you immensely," He made eye contact with them all and continued, "Before you reject the idea you need to hear me out. Also, we don't really have a say in it anyway, I thought I would tell you before you hear it from someone else"

Taehyung started to feel nervous and began to tap the ground with his foot until he felt Jungkook's hand silencing the panic and gripping his knee to comfort him. Tae looked sideways at Jungkook and reached out to poke his side in thanks. Someone grabbed Tae's other hand and squeezed slightly. Tae may have felt a slight fear of what was coming but he had the members to hold him up. He would do the same for them, he had the strong determined mindset that as long as they held together everything would be okay.

"There has been talk... actually, scratch that, it has been decided that because of the success of the American tour you came back from last week that they will be hiring another boy to join BTS," PD-nim perceived the astonished and astounded faces of the seven members and hurriedly clarified the situation, "They will be the same age as you guys, maybe a bit younger, but the main thing is they will be able to speak fluent English! This is an opportunity for you as the Bangtan boys to satisfy the wants of the Western ARMY, they need someone who can communicate with them, Rap Mon shouldn't have to try so hard and worry as much!"

No one knew what to say. Rap Monster got up, "I try hard for the ARMY's sake, I don't mind the burden," He looked down at the six members around him, "Don't act as if they don't try hard too for the Western ARMY. You can't expect us to be able to accept someone in so easily out of nowhere"

PD-nim looked Namjoon in the eye and frowned slightly, "I understand RM but I'm just telling you what I was told. Don't shoot the messenger."

Namjoon saw the discomfort in PD-nim's eyes and sighed slightly, "Sorry PD-nim, it's just so unexpected," he rubbed the back of his neck and looked at the ground for a second thinking, "We're going to have to fight through this, there must be a reason they want to do this. We're going to have to trust them."

The boys all glanced at each other and grew strong together. Jungkook gathered himself and caught PD-nim's attention with a slight cough. "So who is the new guy? When do we get to meet him?" Everyone's eyes turned right back to PD-nim as they waited for the answer.

"Well... you see..." He looked up at the ceiling and exhaled, "They think they found the right guy, he should be arriving from Australia in three days."

Jin placed his face in his hands and rubbed his eyes, "Are you saying that he's going to be Australian?"

"Pretty much."

"This could go horribly wrong, our careers are on the edge, this is Kpop but the group is going to contain an Australian?"

"I understand it's hard but you need to welcome him into the group and help him feel like he belongs, we need effort from you guys. He's going to be on the same boat, and he'll struggle if he thinks he's unwanted. We could make a big statement in the Kpop community, you saw how foreign artists were successful in America!"

J-Hope sighed at this and stood up catching everyone's attention, "We're not just going to abandon this guy, he's now apart of BTS. We will make sure he fits in and he will become apart of the family," He caught a few smiles appearing on Jimin and Jungkook's faces so he continued, "There is more of us to pay attention to the ARMY! They are going to be pleased and I'm happy we can diversify ourselves to the extent that we will bring smiles to our Western Audiences!"

The members were all smiling now and J-Hope turned to PD-nim. "We will do our best for you. However, you can't just add members whenever you'd like. There is a limit to how unexpected we can be with the ARMY and I feel that even though this could be a great move for the future, we are pushing it."

PD-nim smiled at the boys and bowed, thankful that J-Hope decided to show his serious side, "Thank you boys, rest for tonight. You don't need to train for the next few days, after the new guy is settled in we can start again," His eyes glinted as he turned around to walk out,

"We'll discuss your return tour to America soon, we can't leave your ARMY waiting forever now can we?"
