"What is the meaning of this, Road!"

"Just having a little bit of fun is all." Road explained.

"You know the Earl will not allow this. He will be pissed off the moment he hears of it." Tyki explained, dragging a hand down his face.

Suddenly the twins, each one sitting on either side of the other, started to twirl around their pistols, leaning against them and letting out a cackle.

"You expect us," The twins began. "To welcome an exorcist into our home?"

"I have my doubts little nightmare," Sheril stated, looking down at his beautiful daughter.

"I don't expect you all not to." She stated. "The exorcists have been hunting this family for years just like we have hunted them. However, not all the exorcists are evil. Not all of them want to see us destroyed."

The family stared at her as she explained. They knew Road was one of three that survived the betrayal of the Fourteenth, she knows more than they could ever yet that does not raise concerns in others who don't necessarily agree with her. They knew she knew this. Yet she still defends the exorcist boy.

"We understand that you know more than us and that you have seen more of us, but that doesn't erase the fact that the exorcists are our enemies. They mean to destroy us, and we can't allow them to get the upper hand!" Sheril stated.

"Listen to your father little nightmare! He knows what he is talking about after all." The twins came to kneel beside Road, watching her closely and with intention.

She smiled at them both, placing her hands on their outer cheeks.

"My dear family, you know not of what transpired when the fall happened. When our world was destroyed. It was not the humans who destroyed our lifetime but the Innocence they harbor and now it will repeat itself unless we protect the boy."

"I see no reason why we should?" Road turned around to face Lulu Bell.

She was sitting at one of the dining tables chairs with a cat perched on her lap. She looked up, "I don't see any reason to help him." Lulu Bell replied in a monotone voice.

Road hummed in response. She walked toward Lulu Bell, kneeling to pet the cat that was perched on her lap. She smiled, petting the small creature only for it to purr in response.

"We can't always fear those who are a mystery to us," Road replied, gently petting the cat. "Allen is someone who is a mystery to us all he is someone who can befriend even his enemies when the people who should care for him turn their back on him the minute something bad happens. Sometimes a mystery isn't something to be feared." Road explains.

"However, it may bring this family harm." Lulu Bell replied, looking down at the small Noah.

Road let out a laugh. She stood up, dusting herself off before turning around and walking toward Sheril.

"What's the point of living if we don't experience mysteries to their fullest."

Sheril watched his daughter. He always seemed to understand her better than anyone else in the family, however looking down at his little girl. He was having a hard time understanding her reasoning for all of this. Protecting a human, a harborer of Innocence, which has hunted us down for generations. He didn't know what to think, didn't know what to feel.

"You wouldn't listen to me even if I forbid you associating with Allen, would you?" Sheril asked.

Road loves her adoptive father more than she shows but, in this case, if he were to forbid her, she would disregard the command.
