after work I picked you up from preschool, & we went off to Frisco to join daddy at the Stars practice facility where we were having our gender reveal party.
all the way to the rink you told me the baby in my belly was a GIRL. your baby sister is all you want to talk about these days.
oh Ellie, you want a baby sister so so bad.

waiting for us at the rink were a bunch of daddy's teammates, your MiMi, Pop, Nana Jackie, Papa Jeff, Papa Paul, Aunt Hailey, Uncle Ian, little Nix, & some of daddy & I's other friends.
we all had some snacks, skated around, took votes on if the #minisegs2.0 was a boy or a girl, & before we knew it it was time for daddy to SHOOT the puck.
when he took the ice & my heart was POUNDING. with one slap-shot later your daddy was cellying with a belly flop across the ice.
& thankfully we got it all on tape.

you were so SHOCKED that the powder inside the puck was blue & not pink because you SO wanted a baby sister. your little face was PRICELESS.
I hope that as these months go on you'll become more excited to meet your little brother, because I sure am excited to meet him.

El, growing up with a brother is an experience to say the least. he will push your buttons, he will drive you wild, but you'll be so strong because of it. even though you will be older he will protect you always & forever.
