You and Grant have been dating for about 6 months now. Even though it can be hard at times due to his work schedule, you will always support him and his job. He loves what he does and that's all you could ever want for him.
Grant just finished filming season 4 of The Flash and he was flying home tonight. He had a nice 2 month long break before he had to go back and he couldn't wait to spend it with you. You were at home in yours and his shared apartment. You were very anxious to see him and decided to call him to find out what time he'd be home.
Your POV
I grabbed my phone off the coffee table and dialed his number.
"Hey babe what's up? I can't wait to see you."
He greeted.
"I can't wait to see you too! What time is your flight?"
"It takes off at 7 so I'll be home around 10 or 11"
"Okay, sounds good! See you soon! The pups are excited too"
"I can't wait! I'll keep you updated if anything happens. I love you. Aw, can't wait to see them"
"Okay, love you too!"
We both said our goodbyes and hung up.
I went to the kitchen and took out the ingredients to make grants favorite meal, Mac and cheese. It was his favorite as a kid and I always make it for him on special occasions.
I cooked the pasta and started on the sauce, adding in all the cheeses, milk, flour etc.
once it was done I placed it in the oven to keep warm.
As soon as I closed the oven I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. I slid the oven mitts off and took out my phone. It was from Grant.
G💖: I've got some bad news, the flight was delayed for an hour and half. I won't be back till like 1am. I'm sorry babe, love you and see you soon.
Me: Its okay, it's not your fault. I'll be here waiting, love you too.
G💖: Don't stay up to see me, get some sleep. I'll see you in the morning
I didn't reply as I was planning on staying up anyhow.
For the rest of the night I watched Netflix and played with Jett and Nora as we anxiously awaited Grants arrival.
When it got to about 12am, I took the Mac and Cheese out of the oven and placed it in a bowl for him, along with a fork and glass of water.
I sat back down on the couch and continued to watch tv with Jett and Nora cuddling with me.
At one point I could barely keep my eyes open, I fought the urge to close them as I promised myself I'd stay up to see Grant but I just couldn't keep them open any longer.
Grants POV
I ended up getting back at 2am due to a malfunction of the luggage carousel, which took like 45 mins to fix.
I carefully opened the door and quietly closed it behind me. I brought my stuff to the bedroom, surprised to see the bed empty.
I walked back out to the living area and sighed when I saw (y/n) asleep on the couch with Jett and Nora snuggled up with her.
They must've heard me as they jumped off the couch and ran over to me, wagging their tails and jumping up on my legs in excitement. I squatted down to their level and scratched their heads and bellies, trying to calm them down so they don't wake (y/n).
I headed to the kitchen to get a quick snack when I noticed the table was set. I went over to investigate and my heart fluttered when I saw that she had made me Mac and cheese, my favorite childhood meal. I took the bowl and ate the pasta, even though it was cold, it was still really good. I put the rest of it away in the fridge and headed back to (y/n).
I walked over and sat down on the couch softly rubbing her leg. I smiled as I watched her chest move up and down as she breathed. I was the luckiest guy in the world.
I leaned over and gently kissed her forehead before picking her up carefully and carrying her to bed. She snuggled into my chest as I walked, causing butterflies to erupt in my stomach.
I carefully set her down on the bed and pulled the blanket over her. I slipped off my shirt and pants, leaving just my boxers, and slid in next to her. I pulled her close to me, her head resting against my bare chest. Man I missed this so much.
"Thank you." I whispered as I placed another kiss on the top of her head, before closing my eyes and falling into a deep sleep.
The Next Morning
Your POV
I woke up to the sound of soft snores coming from the other side of the bed. Just then I remembered that Grant came back last night. I turned to the face the other way and my heart skipped a beat when I saw my boyfriend peacefully sleeping in our bed for the first time in a couple months. I placed a kiss on his cheek before getting out of bed quietly, so not to wake him.
I went into the kitchen and began preparing breakfast. I cracked the eggs in the pan and placed the bacon in another pan. I turned the coffee maker on to get it heated and ready. I grabbed some tongs to flip the bacon and as I went to do so, I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waste from behind, making me jump from fright causing the tongs to fly out of my hand and land in the sink.
"Very funny Gustin." I said annoyed, turning off the stove before turning around to face him.
"Sorry babe." He chuckled, pulling me close to him.
"You're lucky I love you." I replied, placing my hands on his chest and leaning up to place my lips on his.
We pulled apart and I snuggled in closed to him. "Man I missed you so much" he spoke.
"I missed you too, G"
