Chapter 2: Electrocuted

NATE'S POV

"You are so stupid."  Travis scolded me after I told him about my run-in with Sophia.

I buried face in my hands and groaned. "I know."

Travis began pacing in my room.  "What are we going to do? Now, she's gonna get mad at you for sure. And you're gonna suffer the consequences. Maybe she'll haunt you until senior year or maybe she's gonna learn your secret. She can't learn your secret because if she will she mighafhjdfhjsbff."

I covered his mouth with my hand. "Shut up would you? Youre making it wor— Ow!" I pulled back my hand.

That idiot just bit me. What the hell?

"We have to find a solution." He stated, earning a punch on his arm.

"No, we have to find a problem." I shot back sarcastically. "Of course we have to find a solution."

Travis put on his thinking face. "Well... you could always avoid her." He suggested.

I thought about this, weighing the pros and cons. "Maybe I can avoid her, but she did warn me to watch out..." I trailed off.

"What have you got to lose?" Travis asked.

I looked at him doubtingly. "For once you actually have a point. We'll just have to see how this works out."

She's here. Avoid eye contact.

How could I have forgotten that we were classmates? Face-palm.

I sunk deeper into my seat as she went inside and sat in her usual seat in the front row. I was just two seats behind her, how fortunate of me.

"Settle down class." Ms. Turan stood in front. "And Ms. Taylor please take your feet off the table."

Sophia had her feet proper on top her table and was chewing a gum.

"I think I'm comfortable in this position." She crossed her arms and smiled smugly at the teacher.

Ms. Turan just sighed at her behavior, obviously tired from always scolding the bad girl.

"Open your books to page 37."

I got mine from my bag and at the corner of my eye I saw Sophia sneak a glance back at me.

"Please don't look at me." I muttered, burying my face in the book to avoid looking at her.

I could hear her talking to one of her friends, Yannie, and that's when I came up in their conversation.

"I didn't even know we're in the same class!" Sophia threw up her hands in frustration.

Yannie calmed her friend down when Ms. Turan gave them a stern look. "That's cause you're oblivious to things around you."

Didn't these people know I could hear them crystal clear?

Sophia was about to say something when Yannie beat her to it. " Look Sophia, we'll just confront the guy and get the hell with it. Okay?"

"I don't even know his name," Sophia grumbled but Yannie gave her a deathly glare. "Okay. Fine. Whatever."

They're gonna confront me?!

"Can I please speak with you?" Ms. Turan said to me just as the bell rang.

The students immediately scrambled to get out and I saw Sophia look at me as I went to our teacher.

I held my backpack tighter. "Yes, Ms. Turan?"
