They had agreed on the terms easily. The was no problem. She had no problem with the all the weapons she would randomly finding weapons around the house. Or even him coming around with clothes thrashed, covered in scrapes and blood. Clothes dark. I could handle that.

But today was different. I walked into the house finding him with others. Others like him I ignored it. He merely glanced at me, his friends looked skeptical and on guard. "She's fine." He left it at that putting his attention back to what was on the coffee table.

All of that was fine. What wasn't fine was the what I found when I walked into the kitchen. Three people covered in black bound tightly. I dropped my stuff by the door as they looked up and sighed. "James?" I could hear the shuffling of feet as I moved into the kitchen towards the fridge. I opened it as nervous energy built up behind me as an angry energy built on the other side of me. "Yes?" I pointed thumb over to the three as I pulled some meat from the fridge. "What if I had friends with me?"

He shrugged. "Don't shrug your shoulders. We agreed to keep this out of sight. I live here too you know." He rolled his eyes. "Not like you can't protect yourself." I gave him a flat look. "That's not the point." I walked to the other side putting my drink on the counter before pulling one of the people on a rolling chair and then pushed it towards James. "Keep that hidden. I can feel you have some sort of problem here with your enemies, but if they or you break anything in this house, everyone dies. Understood." He looked nervous but nodded his head. "Got it." She nodded her head pleased. "Good. Now go get cleaned up, I'm making soup tonight so I need them out of the way." Again he moved to comply. "You two as well." The flinched but went for the other two captives they had.
