She sat in silence.
Tears pooled in her eyes,
Slipped down her cheeks,
And landed with a thud.
Where was her heart beat?
When did it go?
How could she know
Fighting for a love
That would never grow to glow.

Her eyes opened.
Her eyelashes were soaked with tears.
She now felt empty inside,
Maybe the way she had felt?
She wouldn't let her in.
She waited silently in agony as her lover slipped away
Never getting the answers
Just being asked to go away.

What does she do now?
She's hopeless without her.
Her love kept her alive
Even when she was dying inside.

Always scared of what she wanted,
How the world would scorn her love,
But now that she's become herself,
She's done.

She can't handle her anymore,
She lost all control,
She cannot love her no more,
Because of her simple betrayal.

As I sit here,
Spouting words of their love,
I think about what has been lost,
Simply what once was.

They gave new meaning
To the words "Love is Love is Love",
But now that it's gone,
What can we trust?

She looked into my eyes,
No life left to be found,
And now as I'm looking back,
I see what love does.
