My first day is officially over and I'm glad to say it was perfect. My teachers were all nice apart from my chemistry teacher, he was strict but I just kept my head down and did as he said. I'm so glad Calum was there to help me out today I don't think I could have managed without him. I hope he hangs out with me tomorrow, I'd really love to be his friend. We exchanged numbers so I'm hoping I'll get to text him later.

My mum texted to say I had to walk home so I could 'get to know the area'. I didn't really mind as my house was close by. The only thing I was worried about was getting lost as I was new to the area. I think it was pretty much a straight walk down the street, then just one left turn and I was on my street. I think my mum said it was about 10 blocks so it shouldn't take very long.

I went to my locker to get some books, Calum walked with me. He said he walks home too so he said he'd walk with me.

"So where do you even live Parks?" Calum asked.

"To be honest with you I'm not really sure I just know I walk straight down this street and when I see a big tree I turn left and my house is on that street."

"Well I walk down this street and keep walking straight and I turn right and my house is there. So we must live really close then!"

"Well that's good, now I won't get lost, maybe we could walk to school together tomorrow?"

"Sure I'd love that, meet me at the big tree at say 8:00?"

"It's a date." I grinned.

The walk was quite short and I saw the big tree I had passed this morning and I stopped and so did Calum.

"Well Hood thanks for making my first day fab." I said and gave Calum a little hug.

"No problem Lex, can I call you Lex, yeah I think I will that's your new nickname."

"See you tomorrow Hood." I said and we parted ways and I walked towards my house. When I arrived I stopped and looked over to Calum who was also at his house, he turned around and we waved, how adorable.

I walked into my house with a huge smile on my face, I was so happy to finally be treated like a normal person again. My sister noticed me smiling to myself and it didn't take her long to make a comment.

"What're you so happy about?" She teased.

"Nothing, shut up Kate you're like 12."

"I'm actually 14 but whatever."

I just rolled my eyes and walked downstairs to the basement which was my room. I loved my room because it was completely away from everyone else in my house, even thought there's just the 4 of us (me, Kate and my parents) but still it's nice to have my own room.

I didn't have any homework since it was the first day and none of the teachers were that cruel, so I decided I'd watch some Gossip Girl on Netflix because it's my favourite and I had nothing else to do. I started into season 4 and got myself comfy on my bed. Just as I was about to hit play on the episode my mum opened the door and came rushing down the stairs.

"Alexa you do remember you have to leave to go to the hospital in an hour?"

"Shit mum do you think the cancer has spread to my brain? I can actually remember things. I'm also not going."

"You don't have to be rude, I'm just reminding you and you are going."

"No I'm not because every fucking time I go that dumbass of a doctor tells me I need to go to a support group because it will 'help me discuss my emotions' and I'm not doing shit."

"He is not and dumbass, he just cares and I agree with him I think you should go. Anyways this appointment is to discuss treatment so you need to go so be ready the hospital is 30 minutes away."

"He will just say the same thing again but okay I guess I'll go."

My mum left, gladly, so I watched Gossip Girl. About half way through it I got a text from an unknown number.

-hi it's that sexy guy you talked to today x-

I immediately knew it was Calum because he was the only person I talked to today, and he was pretty sexy I guess.

A -hi but I'm sorry I don't recall speaking to any sexy guys today you will have to be more specific x-

C -oh really? Well I'm really sexy, dark hair, tan and bangin bod you couldn't forget it x-

A -now that you mention it I might recall who this is now, HI CALUM x-

C -ima call you now because I'm too lazy for texting shit x-

About 5 seconds later my phone started ringing, I wasn't going to answer it at first because I would only be able to talk for 20 minutes and it knew Calum would want to talk for hours, in the end I did answer it just to make him happy.

"Hello Parks." Calum said as I answered, I could just picture his smirk as he said that.

"Hey Hood."

"How are ya?"

"I'm just great, I can only talk for a while because I um have to go out."

"Going anywhere nice?" If only he knew, hopefully I'll never have to tell him the truth.

"Not really just shopping for uh stuff you know, you doing anything nice?"

"Nope just chilling in my room."

We talked for a little while longer and then I told Calum I had to go. I put on some music by the 1975 and began to get ready for my hospital appointment. Usually I end up being at the hospital for around 3/4 hours depending on how much time it takes the doctors and my parents to discuss my 'situation'.

Since I'm there for so long I always just wear some sweatpants and a baggy t-shirt to be comfy. I slipped into my clothes and began to brush out my hair which is wavy, brown and is just below my shoulders. I was lucky I didn't loose all my hair during chemo, this was because after one month of the treatment the doctors decided it wasn't really working out. I did loose a lot of hair but it's grown back now as that was just under a year ago.

I removed my light makeup and I was ready to go. I heard my parents arguing so I just grabbed the keys and sat in the car and waited for them to come out.

I think my appointment was at 4:30 and it was 3:57 so we would have just enough time to get there, although I didn't really care if I was late the doctors just tell me the same thing every time I go to see them.

I'm sorry it took me so long to update this but I've been really busy! I've decided my update days will be Tuesday and Saturday so if I don't update on those days then you can kill me jk pls don't.

I hope this was okay it was pretty boring but it'll get better in the next chapter hopefully.

I'm really happy rn because 5sos are coming to Belfast on their tour next year and that's where I live ayy
