(Six years later) Dakota's POV

I watched as the mermaids attacked the pirate crew. I saw Jack Sparrow on land and do nothing to stop it. Though I do not agree with the others doing this. They've done it for centuries to protect their home. Besides one man might be the first merman. When I see  the lighthouse blow up. I dive with the others and swim away.

"How many did we lose?" I ask as I sit on my throne.

"Three dead, five injured and one missing" the captain of the guard reports.

"They must of taken her to the Fountain of youth, for her tear" I say sadly. "We can do nothing, but pray for her safe return. For now we must honor our dead sisters" I tell them. So we have a funeral for our dead and the injured are treated. The pirates the brought, were all unworthy of being mermen and were killed.

(Three days later)

"She's returned! She has returned with an injured man!" the mermaids shout. I sit on my throne as the young mermaid who'd disappeared appears with an injured man. She bows to me and I smile at them.

"Who is this?" I ask her.

"Philip, he saved my life and I saved his. I shed a tear for him my queen, pleas save him" she says.

"What have you called her?" I ask the man as I circle them.

"Syrena" he says and I smile.

"You called her by her true name, you are worthy. All you need do is ask" I tell him.

"Please heal me" he says. I smile and kiss his forehead. Philip's whole body glows as we watch. When the light fades, he's wound is healed and he now has a merman's tail. Instead of legs.

"You are the first only merman to ever be welcomed into our city. Take care of Syrena" I tell him. "Know that if you hurt her, you'll have heal to pay" I state.

"Thank you" he says and Syrena leads him away.

"My Queen, someone is calling for you on the surface" the captain tells me. I nod my head and swim to the surface. To see my dad on Blackbeard's ship.

"Love the new ship" I say smirking.

"How fair you my daughter?" he asks.

"I fair well" I tell him.

"Have you meet your mother?" he asks me.

"No, she died before I got here. But I've heard many stories about her from her best friend. Have you been seeing anyone new?" I ask.

"One woman has caught my eye and has gifted me with another daughter. But I dropped the girl at an orphanage when her mother died. I gave her a book with a ruby, hoping it'll give her a good life. Haven't seen her since" he explains.

"Why not rise her?" I ask him confused.

"I'm not meant to raise a child Dakota, my life is the sea and it's where I belong. It is no place to raise a child. I pray the tide will return her to me one day. But the odds of that happening are slim" he states.

"What's her name?" I ask him.

"Carina, I got this to remind me of her" he states showing me a tattoo. I smile at it. "I got one on my other to remind me of you. So that no mater where I go, both my daughters will be with me" he explains.

"I know you'll reunite with her one day and maybe I to will meet her. But I must return to my kingdom and you must return to the open ocean. I wish you luck in your future endeavors" I tell him. We say goodbye and he leaves. I watch him sail into the horizon before swimming back to my kingdom.

(Thirteen years later)

A few more mermen have joined the pod. Syrena and Philip have had children. Calypso sent me word of my father's death. Also that Will had been free of his curse and now lives on land with Elizabeth. I was sun bathing in the shallows. I may not be able to turn human, but I can still touch land. It's just difficult to get back into the water. Especially if I were in danger.

I spot a dingy on the horizon and drag myself into the water. I swim under the dingy as he stops. "So any idea how to summon her?" I hear a guy ask.

"No, I didn't even know I had a sister until father died" a girl's voice replies. "I guess I just call her name" she states. "Dakota!" she calls. I surface beside them and they look at me.

"You wished to speak to me, why?" I ask the young woman.

"My name is Carina" she states.

"My half sister, I never expected you to turn up here" I tell her. I then look at the young man and smile. "I'd recognize you anywhere, son of Elizabeth and Will Turner" I say smiling.

"You knew my parents?" he asks shocked.

"I was raised with your father, we're practically siblings. Which makes me your aunt, don't worry we aren't related by blood. I approve your relationship" I tell the pair. "Carina, you may not of known our father long. But he loved you dearly, never doubt that" I assure her.

"I know we don't know each other, but I wish to get to know you" Carina tells me.

"That's impossible, you belong on land and I in the sea. But know that is you ever need me, I'll be there little sister. You'll be safe here tonight, I will have some supplies brought to you. However, I expect you gone by noon tomorrow" I tell her. "But I have a gift for you" I add.

Then give her one of the two necklaces I had made. "A family necklace, so we can always find each other and know when the other is in trouble. I love you little sister" I tell her smiling. She smiles to before they row to land. They leave the next morning and life goes on. Before they did, I found out the young man was called Henry Turner.
