Chapter 23:

Alex's POV-

My hands were shaking and I was already close to tears as I dialed the number that I had tried so hard to forget. "Helloooo" a voice crooned from the other side. Great. He was drunk. As usual. "Father." I tried to sound cold. But I was hurting. "Aaaaaalex. How's it goin'?" He was beyond drunk. "Could be better. Where the hell are you anyway?" "Well, currently I'm on the front lawn." "Of my house?!" I was surprised. And furious. "Our house," he corrected me. "No. Your name is not on the lease anymore. And I have a license to shoot you right now. You're trespassing." "Hey, I just wanted to talk," he said. "Yeah, we'll you've had plenty of time to talk. And you chose to stay away. And some people may put up with your shit but I don't have to. So get the hell off my property and don't come back." I looked out the window and he stumbled off the lawn. "Now, I said I had a question. And I want an answer. Now." I was determined. "Okay, what do you want?" "Did I ever have a sister?" I was asking about Josie, but I knew the name would mean nothing to him. He barely knew my name anymore. "Yes. You did. You had a twin, but we only planned for one baby. We couldn't keep you both so we gave her away. Anymore nosy question?" I was in total shock. "No, that'll be all. You were such a great help. Jackass." My voice was dripping in sarcasm. I hung up before he could say anything else. I didn't care about anything else he might have to say. The next call I made was a lot more important. It was to Niall. He picked up on the first ring. "Hey babe." He was almost singing. I sniffled and whispered, "I need you." and hung up the phone.
