It was raining outside, even worse, it was thundering too. Ella hated the rain, and the lightning would scare her. Ella and Lilith were sitting in the walls, counting their coins. They were going to go to the bazaar the next day.
"Have you seen them yet?" Ella asked, "The gang."
"What gang?" Lilith questioned.
"They look like criminals. There's three of them and they're all scratched up. One of them is our age and then the other ones are older. And you can tell by the looks on their faces that they're evil." Ella described.
"No, why?" Lilith answered.
"They thought that I was special because of my antennae and wings, so I thought that they might be after you too," Ella stated, "but there is this one, I think his name is Connor. I don't think he wants to be there. He's probably just there to support his poor family, and he's got dark hair and beautiful brown eyes..." Ella said dreamily.
"Ooooh, somebody has a crush!"
"It isn't like that!"
"Are you sure?"
"I don't like him, it's just a waste of time." Ella was blushing at this point. Why is my stupid brain doing this to me, I can't take it. I just want to be able to focus on other things, like not dying or worse from that gang. It made her mad that she liked him, she wished that she wasn't on her mind all the time, it clouded her thoughts. But the more Lilith teased Ella about it, she loosened up. Treating it as a joke made her feel better. Ella was getting a little uneasy, though. They were going to go out the next night to find some lost change or other items. She also knew that the gang would probably be there too. She was worried that this time, they might actually get her, and she was unsure of what would happen after that. But for now, she went back to counting coins, and tried to clear her mind.
