Connor let go, and put his hands on Ella's shoulders. "What happened to you? You look like you got thrown off a cliff!"

Ella looked down. Her knees and elbows were bleeding, she was covered in small cuts, broken twigs, and muddy snow. The old lady was right, she did need medical attention.

The pain had just kicked in. She had thought that the pain from before was bad, this was much worse. It felt like she was dying, and she might as well be.

Lilith came running over, but the smile on her face disappeared when she saw the wounds covering Ella's body.

"We need to get you fixed up. We've already set up a small camp near here." Lilith grabbed Ella's hand, and started leading her into the trees towards a small fire. There were the three sacks on the ground, and blankets thrown around the fire in three piles, as if they were sleeping bags. Lilith sat Ella down on one of the piles, and hurried off to get the makeshift first-aid kit that they'd brought.

"I'd clean your wounds, but we're low on water, but I can bandage them before we get to the next village. We're about halfway there, think you can survive another night or two?" Lilith frowned, opening the kit and pulling out the contents.

Ella gritted her teeth in pain as Lilith wrapped the fabric tightly around the wounds on her elbows, knees, and face. She then brushed the twigs and snow out of her hair. Lilith also made sure to wrap Ella in multiple blankets, and sit her next to the fire so she could warm up.

"That should do it, how about something to eat?" Lilith asked, as Connor grabbed a can of beans to eat for dinner. He split them into three wooden bowls, and handed one to Ella. Her stomach grumbled at the sight of the beans, and she quickly devoured them.

They soon fell asleep under the warm sun's rays trying to combat the cold winter, covering themselves with thick blankets.
