Now that Lilith wasn't here, Ella didn't know what to do, so she walked around town cradling Mina. Suddenly, the cat hopped out of her arms and start walking towards one of the Guard's towers, specifically, the one with the least guards. It was always empty because it was the area that needed the least protection, where the poor lived. Mina was walking with her shoulders high as if she was in a marching band, which was unlike her usual shy nature. Ella followed, confused as why Mina was heading there. Mina pointed her nose to the door, as Ella opened the creaky board of wood and stepped inside.
It had a weird smell, like rusted metal and old wood. There were swords, shields, bows, and arrows hung up on the wall, and a tall ladder leading up to the top. Wondering what was up there, so she started climbing up the ladder. Mina knudged her ankle, and motioned to a brick in the wall, trying to push it with her paw. Ella pushed the brick in, opening a door to the side. As she walked in, she could see bookshelf after bookshelf, rows and rows of books. But as Ella looked at all of the books, Mina marched down the hallway, and hopped up onto a shelf to push a book off. Ella picked up the book and read the title. "A Guide to Mythical Creatures" was what it was called. She opened up the book to the first page.
It read "Adenydds". That was what she was, an adenydd. When she turned the page to start reading, it was as if the book was shoved out of her hand and thrown on the floor. She looked at her empty hands, then back down on the floor, as voices started whispering in her ear "special, special". They were gaining volume, as the pages of the book turned until it flipped to one page. It was ripped out of the book and shoved in front of her face. Ella stepped back, and started reading. She was only able to make out "An Adenydd's Magical Pow-" before it was ripped from her face and into shreds. Then, the book pages started flying out into tiny shreds of paper. Once the book was empty, it slammed shut, and an old, raspy voice yelled in her ear, "Ella Andora is special", and the whispers disappeared. Ella screamed, and ran towards the doorway.
