The entire time they were getting more supplies, Connor seemed unusually zoned out the entire time, staring at the ground or the clouds in the sky. His eyes only stared straight ahead, as if he was thinking deeply about something. He acted different then last night, instead of talking aloud to himself, he just stared in the distance, stone faced.
They were back in the inn now, sorting out everything. Lilith and Ella were sitting on one of the beds, while Lilith helped change Ella's bandages. Connor was sitting in the bed opposite of them, quietly shoving contents into the overflowing sack. They'd both tried asking him what was wrong, but he remained quiet and shrugged. Ella had gotten a bit worried, Why couldn't anything go smoothly? Ella wondered. Why has there been so many problems already?
It was soon midnight, and they all grabbed their stuff and headed out, giving the key back to the innkeeper, and going about their way. They strolled swiftly through the streets of the kingdom, making their way out and back into the woods. Their next stop was much farther, although with all the trouble they'd had before, it would probably be sooner.
