I grab a fist full of popcorn and shove it into my mouth while trying to hold back a few tears.

"Ugh," I say, "I just can't stand him. He's so arrogant and acts like everything is about him when he won't even answer a phonecall."

Lily sighs, "I don't think he realized that you called him. Just try and give him the benefit of the doubt."

I groan, "Fine but he still yelled at me when we could've had a perfectly fine conversation with no yelling and nothing about the past being brought up. I don't wanna go through the break up again. You realize how freaking hard that was for me and I was dying for months."

She frowns, "I know. But you gotta remember that he had to go through that too. And he took it horribly. He wouldn't talk to anyone for more than a month and when he did, he looked absolutely miserable. It looked like he barely got sleep and he had gotten a little thinner. He looked so depressed and beaten up for almost three months. He blamed himself for the entire thing."

I start to frown but replace it with an eye roll and some more popcorn, "He looks better now. What'd he do? Sleep with every girl in sight?"

Lily shakes her head, "He's got more respect for girls now than he did before you. And actually he didn't mess with or talk to any girls. Derek tried to set him up with one of his friends but George declined without any hesitation."

I sigh, "Ok we both went through bad times. I just don't see why we can't put in the past instead of trying to sort it out. We did enough yelling during the breakup. I don't want another heart break."

"You gotta like him to be heartbroken by him again. Besides, you left. He was ready to stay for a long time."

I pinch the bridge of my nose, "Ok ok. I messed up but it was a great job and I was unemployed. How could I not? And also I don't still like him." I wave my hand, "I'm done with him. Feelings are gone."

Lily chuckles lightly, "Yeah, ok."

I throw my hands up, "What?!"

She laughs softly again, "I'm just laughing."

"And whyyyy?"

"Cause it's funny that you think you completely don't like George."

I glare at her, "I don't."

She shrugs, "Fine. Go out there and tell him then."

I wince a little, "Um are you sure? We did just fight-"

"If you really don't like him and want nothing to do with him then go tell him."

"I, um, ok."

I stand up hesitantly and open the door glancing back at Lily eating popcorn. I close the door but that proves useless when I hear it open back up again while walking down the stairs.

I peek into the kitchen and watch George running his hands through his head and hitting his forehead.

I walk into the kitchen and clear my throat, "Excuse me?"

He looks up with cold brown eyes that soften once they stare into mine. "Oh. Sam, I just... geez I'm a terrible person and I'm so sorry for yelling. I can't believe I even did that."

My body becomes less tense once I hear that he regrets the arguement.

I frown, "It's ok and I'm sorry too. I should've just avoided bringing up old stuff at all costs."
