The days of the first term moved like lightning and was faster than what I could've expected. Friends and grades were great and everything flowed smoothly in those days. Maybe what the movies on television say are actually true. Maybe high school is the golden age of your life.

I felt as if this was a new beginning for me after leaving my tragic past in grade school, to which we all should never ever recall!

Just then, when life was like sugar, high school became a whole lot sweeter when everything came at me all at once.

[Jen, the first guy I talked to in school and my fake crush.]

The calling me "crush" thing wasn't the only action he made to make my life worse. He started putting his arm around my shoulder whenever he saw me. He started to talk to me at my most quiet times in school. There's no doubt that he was trying to get close to me.

It was flattering and cute. Although, the feeling was never real.... Mine started to grow. I knew he was a player, and I knew he still liked Flourdes. Yet, this guy over here continues to flirt around campus with different other girls that included me. Every time he was around, I was always in a state of reverie of some sort.

I knew pretty much everything was a lie, it was all a joke. Ever since he heard the gossip from CJ, he started to get close to me. Only because he knew that I liked him, and that didn't necessarily meant he felt the same exactly mean the same. God, but why? Why do I have this emotion? This feeling I can't understand. I didn't like him, I never did that much from the start, but why? Why do I have this sudden attraction to him? Why do I miss his arm around my shoulder even though these things he do for me aren't.... For real?

Once, I stood on the tiled hallway with Hasha by my side, chatting to let time prolong its way to the end of break time.

"Ehem, Aria." Jen approached me.

"Oh f*ckin' hell!" I replied in shock. "Oh. It's just you. What do you want?"

"Is it so bad that I want you?"

"Yes, absolutely."

"Whoops, look at the time." Hasha slowly backed away. "Seems like I got to go back to class and do a last minute review, you staying here Aria? Okay, see 'ya later!"

She instantly disappeared into the classroom, never to come back again! Nope, that traitor won' t come back while Jen was here with me. Not even once, not twice, not ever coming back– not while he's still near me.

It didn't help that he began to inch closer, either.

"So.... I seem to have trouble remembering this song," he spoke. "Could you help me out?"

"Why me? There are other people to help you out, go ask them."

"You're the one I'm closest to right now."

"Use your legs and find someone else to ask."

"That seems impractical."

"Walk with your legs– away from me. You need the exercise."

"Aria...." He shook his head contemptuously.
