RICHARD
Richard groggily groaned as he stepped out of bed. He blankly stared into his closet. What would make him look like he didn't try, but was still the hottest guy in school. The attendance bell rang at 8 AM. Richard stared at the clock. It read 7:48. Richard panicked. He had promised his mothers that after the incident with Doyle, he would never be late again. As usual, he swore under his breath. He blindly grabbed a pair of shorts and a shirt. He silently prayed that he wouldn't look like a train wreck. He scrambled to find last night's homework and ran out of his bedroom. In the kitchen, the clock read 7:53. Without even a bite to eat, he ran out the door and hopped into his truck.
The ride to school was a nightmare. It seemed like every red light stopped him. He started to honk non-stop. Would this ever end? Finally, he pulled up in front of the school. His wristwatch read 7:59. He stood in the yard for 3 seconds and the bell made a screeching noise. He had made it in time. He couldn't risk his mothers being mad again. He didn't want to risk it. He slowly walked inside to the Algebra classroom.
When he looked inside, all his classmates were there already. He saw the nameless girl. In the back corner of the class. He saw Doyle, his best friend sitting in the middle flirting with Christina. At first, jealousy hit him. But then he saw her. The nameless girl. Staring. Into her math book. Richard walked and sat next to her. She looked up, acknowledging his presence, no words came out of her mouth, but it was a start. You couldn't have everything in this world.
The lunch bell rang just as Richard was walking out of the pool. He walked to the lunchroom with no confidence. "Richard!" Screamed a loud voice. One he recognized. Christina's. She linked arms with him. "So, I was thinking..." Her voice droned on as they walked to the lunchroom.
SAMANTHA
She wakes up to the smell of bacon and eggs. She couldn't get the idea of Richard and Christina kissing out of her thoughts. Sam starts arguing with herself about how Christina must have kissed him not the other way around because she saw him staring at her and that couldn't have meant nothing! Right? She pulls on a Aztec crop top and Abercrombie jean shorts. Then runs downstairs, eats and then hops into her new Jeep. Sam didn't want a convertible even though she could have had it, she preferred a Jeep. She pulled in and first period was Algebra, JOY!
Guess who was in her algebra class. If you guessed Richard you got it. She sat in her assumed position in the back of the class and what just happened blew her mind. Richard sat next to her. She looks up and notices that a lot was going through his mind. Was this the start of us? She thought it could be true. Just maybe.
"OWWW! Ow!" Sam exclaims as she bumps into a door. She doesn't want to go back. She has to drive to her dad's today. Her dad isn't the slightest nice. He abuses Sam, he is strict, hates when Sam is late, he is on drugs and he loves to yell. Since her parents' break up Sam's dad had been horrible. If she didn't want scolding or abuse Sam would have to leave now. But she couldn't, she couldn't face her dad today. So she sat there and cried.
