For the first time in a long time, I am happy. Genuinely happy. And I am a lot of that. That is also saying a lot because it is also Monday morning...
Anyways, on Saturday, after Dylan kissed me...
"I love you, Ruby," He whispered after the kiss. "Please don't ever leave me again."
I stood there speechless with no emotion on my face. I have no idea what just happened.
'Did Dylan Harrison Grayson,' I thought, 'just kiss me? The same Dylan Harrison Grayson that has been my best friend for forever? The same Dylan Harrison Grayson that I call O'brien when he is being stupid or cute? The same Dylan Harrison Grayson that has been bailing out lately? The same Dylan Harrison Grayson that I had a fight with? The same Dylan Harrison Grayson, that I have had a secret crush on since sixth grade...'
After mentally yelling at myself asking what I'm waiting for, I practically throw myself at him and kiss him again. When he pulled away he was smiling. I was too.
"Does that mean you won't leave me again," he asked.
"More or less," I replied.
"Does that mean you will be my girlfriend?"
I pretended to think about it for a second. "More or less."
I was honestly surprised how we heard each other, there were fireworks being set off, people cheering all around us, Destiny screeching at the top of her lungs, not to mention my stomach pretty much exploding with butterflies.
He laughed. I laughed. And then we walked into the sunset holding hands.
I wish that happened. But no, instead of walking off into the sunset, Destiny ran over to me and tackled me to the ground. She was screaming something about her ships. After that, Destiny stripped into her underwear and jumped into the river. Not a good idea. One alligator chase later, she was being kicked out of the park and receiving her rewards.
I still ended up with a teddy bear though, because Dylan expected me to win he bought one with my name threaded into it.
Back to the present, I was happily taking my shower in my empty house and getting dressed. I wore a white "Jack Daniel's" loose, crop top with shirt, cut off, black shorts and my combat boots. After adding in a red flannel, I put my hair into a messy high ponytail and walked down to the kitchen. Grabbing my breakfast, I took my bag and headed for the door.
I continued to take my time as I pulled out my helmet and jacket. Placing them into their proper places, I put my other things inside the same compartments and was on my way.
I was slightly dreading school. It is still Monday you know. But I was also looking forward to it so that I can shove my relationship into Krystal's face.
Krystal, although not being part of my life for a small while, is the school slut. She also "dated" Trevor for a small while. She said that Dylan would much rather date her than myself. This bet was made two years ago as a sophomore. Now that we're seniors, she owes me twenty bucks.
That was not the only upside to dating Dylan though. I have liked him since sixth grade. Secretly because no one could know. I mean seriously, there is almost no way not to like Dylan. Even just as a friend.
I arrived at the school parking lot and scoured the parking lot for an open space. Seeing Dylan and Destiny waited by their car next to an open spot. After parking quickly, I took off my helmet and jacket then replaced them with my bag and breakfast.
"Good morning, babe," Dylan said with extra emphasis on the "babe".
Smiling, I walked forward slightly and kissed him. After a few seconds, Destiny said, "I mean, I am all in for Team RuLan, but I don't want to see this much PDA."
Laughing, Dylan put his arm around my shoulders and we all started to walk towards the school. Suddenly, out of nowhere, Dylan said, "Ruby."
His authoritative voice made me question him, "Yeah...?"
A few steps away from the door he says, "We need to have a conversation about your wardrobe."
"What's wrong with the way I dress?"
"You're showing too much. Only I am allowed to see those parts of you now."
Destiny snickered and I laughed slightly, "Okay, Dad."
"You know I'm your daddy."
All three of us bursts into laughter as we entered the school. Mostly because Dylan never really commented sexually to things. Liked this side of him.
Spotting the rest of the group, we walked over to them. Trevor and Pierce were singing songs they would in kindergarten in unison.
"Ruby and Dylan sitting in a tree!"
"F-U-C-K-I-N-G!"
"First comes love..."
"Then comes sex..."
"Then comes Ruby with a pregnancy test!"
Dylan rolled his eyes and I said, "Ha, ha. Very funny. At least a when we're dating we can have our own children."
Dylan joined in and said, "Yeah. You two on the other hand..."
They both started yelling at us something that sounded like not dating. That didn't matter because we were laughing and the bell rang. Dylan and I walked to homeroom together, still laughing slightly.
Something I noticed through that entire encounter, was the fact that Ace wasn't talking or moving his eyes off of Dylan and I.
It is lunch time. After sitting down at lunch time with the rest of the group, I said, "Okay, watch me bleed this bitch ass slut dry over here."
I got up and sauntered over to Krystal's table. Overhearing their conversation slightly, I casually slid into the seat across from Krystal. "O.M.G. I know right? He he," I said this in an overly high pitched voice.
"Um excuse me," Krystal said with her hand pointing at the table, "What are you doing here?"
"Um," I started mimicking her, "What are you doing with the twenty dollars you owe me?"
"What the hell are you talking about?"
Smiling I pretended to look at my nails, "I'm talking about the bet we made sophomore year after you dated Trevor and threatened to go after Dylan. You know, the one that you said that Dylan would much rather date you than me."
Krystal's eyes went huge and her mouth opened wide," Wait, you two are dating?!"
"Yes..." I said and trailed off slightly, "and you owe me twenty dollars."
She squealed causing the rest of the table to do so. With a huge smile on her face she exclaimed, "I've been waiting for you two to get together since freshman year! O.M.G. I'm so happy for you!"
"Okay...? Twenty dollars."
"Oh," she said then pulled out a twenty from her purse, "Here you go. Hope you two are happy together!"
Taking the money, I walked away and was asked what happened by Dylan.
My response was, "That is a really good fucking question."
