Calvin threw his blade down on Deathbringer, who threw a fist into Calvin's chest. Before his blade collided with the cloaked man, he was thrusted backwards and hit the wall with a thunk. Deathbringer had used Black Magic to enhanced his strength.

Deathbringer ran at him as he slid down to the floor, raising his other fist. Red flames hovered around his wrist, and Calvin rolled to the right and picked himself up quickly as his opponent threw the fist down. He punched the ground, sending cracks throughout it.

Calvin quickly jumped into the air and threw his blade down on Deathbringer's back, slicing it open slightly. He laughed as he turned around and threw another punch straight at him, this time even harder.

Calvin flew into the wall and hit it hard. The wall rumbled and cracked as Calvin slid down to the floor again, already losing strength minutes into the battle.

"This feels good," Deathbringer said. "but I can make it better," The cloaked man ran up to Calvin, who tried to roll out of the way again like last attack. It didn't work this time, and Deathbringer grabbed Calvin by the collar of his armor and lifted him off the ground. Evilslayer kicked and struggled to get him to let go, but the grip wouldn't budge. However, it did when he threw his sword into Deathbringer's shoulder.

Deathbringer dropped him as soon as the blade hit his arm. He grabbed it with his other arm and howled in pain. Calvin quickly threw the sword into his opposite arm, causing him to yell louder.

"That's it!" Deathbringer screamed. "I wanted to have fun with this, but you won't let me!" Calvin raised his sword again, but it was thrust out of his hand and flew into the cracked walls and nudged itself in there tight. Again, he was using Black Magic to aid himself in this battle.

Deathbringer raised his hand towards Calvin, who began to lift into the air slightly. He eyes began to turn black, his body draining of energy. The kids watched from the corner, crying uncontrollably.

"Your...soul....is," Deathbringer let a small chuckle go as Calvin started to shake violently. "Mine!" The red cloaked man began to close his hand, Calvin slowly turning to an inky black color.

"No!"

Ben ran into the room, sword raised, and threw it down on Deathbringer's hand. It sliced off swiftly, dropping onto the floor and blood flying everywhere. Calvin dropped to the ground, body slightly gray.

"You...idiot! I could've had him!" Deathbringer said. "Gah! I guess I have more to kill!"

Calvin didn't move. He laid on the ground, breathing slowly. At least he was alive.

Ben worriedly retreated back to the middle of the room, avoiding Calvin's limp body. However, Deathbringer didn't avoid it. He ran to it and raised his only fist left.

So, Ben did what any kid would do.

He cut it off.

The teenager ran at the cloaked man yet again and sliced off his enemy's hand as it was coming down on Calvin's gray body. He screamed as he looked at his stubs on his arms that were emitting endless blood.

"This..." the Deathbringer began to leave the room. "This isn't over. I swear to you, I will end your lives, and I will get my revenge. I am the Deathbringer, and I have never failed to bring death upon all of my enemies!" He left the room in the rushed, leaving both of his hands behind. Blood splattered the floor, the kids still crying.

Ben ran to Calvin's limp body quickly. The room was no longer illuminated by Deathbringer's fire, so he couldn't see well.

"We need to get him help," Ben stated to his siblings. "We have to get on a boat and go to the Island of Death,"

"We can't!" Rose sobbed. "We will die as soon as we go out there–we are kids! That army will kill us!"

"What else do you want to do? The Deathbringer is still in here, roaming the halls of the abandoned Zena, planning his next attack. He half-succeeded this time, but also made a new target. We can't have that. We need to leave as soon as possible," Ben said.

Carter buried his face in Rose's chest, crying uncontrollably at the sight of what he just witnessed.

"Carter," Ben tried to comfort him, walking over to the child. "It's gonna be okay. But, if I'm being honest, this is how things might be from now on,"

Rose slapped his stomach, shooting him a glare he couldn't see in the darkness. Carter stopped crying, and stepped away from his sister. He jumped into Ben's arms.

"You saved us, Ben," Carter said, crying as he hugged his brother.

"Not yet," Ben said. "We need to save Calvin now. He needs help from what the Deathbringer did to him. We have to go out there, and I promise—I promise that I'll protect you. Pinky promise," Ben felt as if he convinced the kid with the pinky promise.

"Promise?" Carter asked, Ben nodded in confirmation even though he couldn't see it.

"I promise," Ben said. Carter then whined slightly as buried his face into his brother. Ben picked up the crying kid, who then rested his head on his shoulder. Ben grabbed Rose's hand and pulled her over by Calvin.

Ben sat Carter down for a minute and had to get Calvin. He picked up the limp body and slung it over his shoulder, picking up Carter again afterwards.

Rose followed him as they exited the hospital and into the main area of the Zena. All of the lights had been taken out before the storm came for extra defense for the Zena in some way. Ben didn't understand how that'd help but he didn't question it either.

The kids then led Calvin to the docks to get the help he needed.
