Sam's POV

"Wait. You two know each other?" I asked, completely shocked.

Nick and Trevor both looked at me then nodded.

"How?" I asked.

"The first night we met was the night Mom died," Nick said.

Trevor nodded. "The greatest battle in Seattle."

"Mom was at the battle?" I asked.

Nick nodded.

"She was killed there?"

Nick nodded again.

"And you didn't see Dad kill her?!"

"Well, I was a little busy trying to fight off whoever was trying to kill me," Nick said.

"Oh," I said.

"Duh."

"Oh, shut up."

Trevor laughed. I turned to him. "Oh, so you think it's funny, do you?"

He nodded, still laughing. I got up and grabbed a pillow. I chucked it at his face. Trevor grunted and fell to the ground. He got back up and threw it back at me. I sucked and it hit Nick square in the face. His expression got me and Trevor laughing are asses off. Nick finally joined in after trying to keep a straight face.

Then all the windows broke. Three cans clattered on the floor, smoke coming out.

Sleeping gas, I thought, but it was too late. I was already starting to get drowsy. I fell to the ground and didn't move. The last thing I remembered was seeing about ten guys in gas masks, putting something over our heads.

Sam's Dad POV

"Victoria?" I said, shocked.

"My, my, Jackson. You haven't changed a bit since you tried killing me," Victoria said.

"Tried? I did! There was no heartbeat!"

She laughed. "I'm a vampire. Of course there was no heartbeat. I had to get you to think you did."

"But why?"

"Because of Sam, of course," she laughed.

I gave her a puzzled look. She laughed again.

"Oh, come on, Jackson. You really don't know?" she said, wide eyed.

I shrugged.

"Our daughter, Samantha Marie, is in the Great Prophecy," she said confidently.

I nearly choked on my spit. "How is that possible?"

She turned to the guards. "Go get the mirror."

"Yes, mistress," they said.

Victoria turned back to me. "You'll find out soon enough."

Nick's POV

I woke with a terrible headache. I glance next to me. I saw Sam and Trevor. They were both knocked out. Good thing Trevor was kicking range. I was chained to the wall so I scooted over as much as I could and kicked him in the shin as hard as I could. He grunted in pain and woke up. He groaned more in pain as he sat up.

"What happened?" he asked.

"Looks like we got captured," I answered.

"But by who?"

I shrugged.

We heard Sam groan. I looked over and she was already sitting up.

"Where are we?" She asked.

Trevor and I shrugged.

"You are at the Vampire Palace," a woman said behind us.

Sam's Dad POV

We waited in silence for the guards to return with the mirror. A couple minutes later, the guards came back with the mirror. It was a few feet taller than Victoria.

She stood in front of the mirror and raised her arms as though she's getting ready to fly.

"Show me the prophecy," she said loudly.

The guards has untied me so I walked up to the mirror, next to Victoria. Cloudy words began to form.

-The first daughter born as a hybrid of werewolf and vampire, must either join forces with the Feared One or kill her-

The words disappeared.

"Mistress," Marvin said behind us.

"What is it?" Victoria said facing us.

"We have the children," he said.

"Ah! Great! Thank you, Marvin," she said. He bowed. "You may go." He left.

"What do he mean by the children?" I asked.

She turned and laughed. "Oh, you'll see very soon, Jackson," she said. "Very soon."

And with that, she left.

Nick's POV

We jumped and turned to her. We couldn't see her face. She was hidden in the shadows but we could see the outline.

"Who are you?" Sam asked.

"Ah, Samantha. You've become such the woman!" the woman said.

"How do you know my name?" Sam asked, pale white.

The woman sounded familiar. Where have I heard that voice before? Then the woman walked into the light. My heart nearly stopped.

"Mom?" Sam and I said at the same time, but my voice cracking.

Sam's Dad POV

A few minutes later, Victoria returned with three guards holding chains. She looked at me and smirked. "I hope you like my surprise, Jackson," she said. "Bring them in."

The guards yanked on the chains and three children fell into the room. My heart sank to my stomach.

"No," I whispered.

Victoria laughed. "Oh, yes, Jackson. The children I sent my guards to catch was our daughter and son. And Sam's precious vampire boyfriend."

"Vampire?" Sam said, shocked.

Sam's POV

I looked over at Trevor. His teeth were clenched. "Vampire?" I said again.

He wouldn't answer or look at me. I fought back tears. Werewolves and vampires can't be together.

Your parents were together, said a voice in my head. Trevor's voice.

Yeah, well, look how well that ended, I thought back.

He stayed quiet. Great. Not only is he a vampire but he can also read minds and produce thoughts. Yay. I looked back at my so-called mother.

"What do you want with us, Mother?" I spat.

She smiled. "Well, sweetheart, you're in the Great Prochecy."

I gave her a puzzled look. "The Great Prophecy?"

She turned away from me and walked towards the mirror. She stood in front of it and raised her arms.

"Show me the prophecy," she said.

And then words popped up.

-The first daughter born as a hybrid of a werewolf and vampire, must join forces with the Feared One or kill her-

"How do you know I'm the hybrid?" I asked.

"Well, I am a vampire and your lovely father is a werewolf," my mother said.
