Her dad paled.

"What? You know her?" I asked.

Her dad didn't answer.

"The Feared One, Victoria, used to he his wife and also my biological mother," Sam said in disgust.

"Oh, wow," I said. "So why does she want to kill you?"

"Well, I was either supposed to join forces with her or kill her," she said.

"Wait, so you're the hybrid?" I asked, disappointment flooding through me.

She nodded. My head hung. She placed both hands on my cheeks and made me look at her.

"What is it?" she asked quietly.

I took a deep breath. "Since you're part werewolf, part vampire, you have two mates. And you've already found the other," I said.

Sam's POV

"Since you're part werewolf, part vampire, you have two mates. And you've already found the other," Peyton said.

"How do you know?" I asked.

"I can smell him on you," he said, hurt flashing beyond his eyes.

Trevor, I thought immediately and he just happened to come down into the kitchen. He froze when he saw us.

"What's going on?" he asked.

Peyton got up and walked to Trevor, holding his hand out and said, "Hello. My name is Peyton Ukraine, the werewolf prince and also Sam's mate."

Trevor froze and did not take Peyton's hand. He looked so broken, I wanted to go to him and comfort him, but held myself back. He looked at me, then.

"Is this true?" he whispered.

I nodded slightly.

His face hardened. His body tense. He started walking to the door.

"Trevor, no!" I cried, grabbing his arm.

He yanked his arm back, not looking at me. He walked out the door. I stood there staring after him, not sure what to do. Peyton placed a hand on my shoulder. I shook it off and ran upstairs to my room. I collapsed onto my bed. I grabbed a pillow and hugged it tight to my chest and cried 'til I couldn't no more. There was a soft knock on my door.

I sniffled. "Who is it?" I said, my voice hoarse.

"It's me, Peyton," he said through the door.

I groaned. "Go away."

The door opened anyways. I should have locked it. He came in and laid next to me. I turned my back to him. That didn't seem to bother him because he wrapped an arm around me and put his chin on my shoulder.

"I'm really sorry, Sam," he whispered.

I bit my lip to keep from crying.

"I wouldn't have done it if I knew how much it'd cause you pain," he said.

"You shouldn't have done it at all," I said angrily.

"But you're my mate. Us male wolves tend to get very jealous when our mates talk to an unmated wolf," he whispered. "Especially, an unmated vampire."

"Why do you care? It's been a couple days since you came here and you never said one word to me," I said.

"I've always cared, even when I didn't know it," he said.

"How?"

He just shrugged. Have I cared about him? I can't have. I don't know him.

That don't mean I don't know his wolf, Scarlet said.

What do you mean? I asked.

I've known Aramis ever since we were spirit cubs. We were separated when we were sent to our humans. He was on one side of the world and I the other. We don't know who we're mated with 'til we're in our human, well at least an idea of who, my wolf explained.

Oh, I said.

I turned around and faced Peyton.

"I have too," I whispered.

He smile and leaned in. As soon as his lips pressed against mine, I gasped. Sparks spreaded through me. He bit my lip when I didn't kiss back. I chuckled and kissed him back.

"Sam!" my dad yelled suddenly, making Peyton and I jump apart and him falling off the bed.

"Yes?!" I yelled back down.

"Come down here. Bring Peyton. Someone wants to meet you," he said.

I looked at Peyton with raised eyebrows. He shrugged. We walked downstairs, into the living room. My dad was talking to this older looking man. I have no clue who he was, but the look on Peyton's face says he did.

"Dad?" he said in disbelief.
