CHAPTER TEN

Zain stared at me with shock written all over his face, like seriously did I just slap zain?
"Jesus!! Zain am sorry i wasn't thinking straight" I held his face examining it to see i left any mark there.
Then he did something I was least expecting, he started laughing and what surprised me was that he didn't look like he was faking it, he was really laughing.
Awwn he really looks cute when laughing *ok Alex this isn't the time to admire him, you just slapped him and he's laughing. It only means one thing.... Run for your life!!!!.*
I didn't spare another second before running away.

By the time I got to my class it was already past break period so I just laid down my head on my desk and slept off. Fortunately for me, no teacher woke me up so I just slept off for God knows how long.
"Hey Alex wake up" I felt someone tap my arm lightly, I opened my eyes and saw Yvonne smiling at me.
"Pom pom (the pet name I gave Yvonne coz of her big cheek) what's up" I sat up rubbing my eyes. I looked around and noticed the Yvonne and I were the only ones in class.
"Where's everyone?"
"Home" she said putting on her back pack.
I looked at my wristwatch and it was already 2:30 pm and school closed by 2pm.
"Thanks Yvonne" I picked up my back pack and left the class.
I knew the news of what happened must have gotten round the school coz every student the passed me liked at me longer then usual.

I was almost close to the school's parking lot, when I saw Rachael and our driver Ambrose looking around like though they were looking for someone, yeah it quite obvious that they were looking for me.
Rachael told him something and started walking towards my classroom, I quickly hid behind a wall.
I was prepared to go home now or even ride in the same car with Rachael, I was still mad at her.
Rachael came out of my classroom few seconds later looking very worried, she went to meet Ambrose who was now in a frantic State. He brought out his phone and made a call before they both entered the car and drove off. I knew they were worried because they couldn't find me.

I came out of my hiding place and took a cab home. I just entered my compound and saw Ambrose pacing around.
"Alex!!" He ran towards me "where have you been we you okay?" He examined Me from head to toe with his eyes.
"Am very fine" I said, I noticed a black Lexus packed in our garage.
"Grandpa George is around?"
"Yes he's inside" I ran inside the house happily shouting grandpa's George's name from the corridor.
I entered the sitting room and saw him pacing around "grandpa George!!!" I pulled him into a fierce hug.
"Alex!! Thank God you are ok, you almost gave your old man an heart attack" he said pulling me away to check if I was ok.
"Grandpa am fine, I have missed you, why are you in Accra?" My grandpa runs a big poultry in Tema Ghana. The love I have for this old man is more than words can explain, he's the best grandpa you can ever ask for.
"I have missed you guys so much and decided to come spend sometime with you guys, so Where have you been?" He asked trying to use his strict voice.
"Uhmmm grandpa I had a little stomach upset and I had to use the toilet" I lied.
He tapped my forehead lightly "you are lying to your old man Alex, I knew you were just trying to avoid Rachael"
"Huh?" How did he know?
"Rachael told me everything that happened at school today" yeah that's the only way he could know.
"Alex, Rachael has been crying since she came back from school, she's very sorry for her reaction today, I know what Rachael did today was very bad but she's still your sister and you need to forgive her."
"Grandpa but she... "
"Alex I know, but she's still your sister and you need to forgive her" he said leaving no room for any further argument.
I raised up my hands in defeat "fine you are the boss" I said giving him a peck on the cheek before running up the stair case.

I just finished freshening up and sat down on my bed playing the violin, when I heard a knock on my door.
"Come in" I said still playing my violin. Rachael came into my room holding a tray of orange juice and biscuits, while smiling at me nervously.
"Can I seat? " she said gesturing towards the chair besides my bed. She noticed I was going to give her the silent treatment, so she just sat down besides me on the bed dropping the tray on the chair.
She cleared her throat like though telling me to stop playing my violin that she wants to talk to me. I stopped playing the violin and looked at her, making sure to keep my face very expressionless.
A lone tear escaped her eyes "Alex am sorry, I don't even know the right word to use right now but am sincerely sorry".
Seeing Rachael cry was really breaking my heart, she might have acted really stupid earlier on but she was still my baby sis (am senior to her with a year)".
I pulled her into a hug which took her unaware but she later recovered and hugged me back.

We later made up and were both enjoying our snacks and watching "Warship" when my phone rang. I looked at the callers ID, it was ivy.
"Hey baby what's up"
"Alex please come over to my house immediately, I don't know what's wrong with Zain." She said, her voice was laced with panic.
"Ivy please calm down, tell me what exactly is wrong"
Then she started crying "I don't know, just come over please"
"Ok fine, am coming over now" I ended the call and quickly wore a black jeans and red top
"Alex what's wrong?" Rachael asked getting up from the bed
"It's Zain, I will be right back" I said grabbing my phone and wallet before running
