If you'd think I was being classy getting drunk on some fine wine let me tell you this.
Honey, I wish!
Chinese wine is not wine AT ALL. It was just alcohol. A very very strong alcohol, since it was 42% pure. Oh, and the taste? Horrid. Fun fact: Chinese people don't put ice in their drinks—ever. Or even put sodas or alcohol in fridges, so it being warm was not helping the taste at all.
Still it was getting the job done.
Aaron and I are currently sitting on the couch in the lobby, laughing our butts off playing a card game I don't even get.
"Wait, you win again?" I whine tired of having to take another shot.
"That's right! I can't be defeated!" he shouts putting his arms in the air celebrating
"Nooo" I start to protest grabbing onto his arm to stop him as he is serving the shot. "Whyyy? It is so not fair, you are taking advantage of my bad skills, and I don't like this game. I don't want to keep playing this"
"Whatever loser, take your shot"
I'm pouting a bit but I take the shot as quickly as I can. The taste is horrible and it burns my insides from the moment the liquid is in my mouth until it arrives to my stomach.
"Ew, this is the worst. Chinese wine sucks. Hard" I complain once more after washing the taste down with some orange soda.
I look at him and he is already looking at me, we are quite for a few seconds just looking at each other until we broke into fits of laughter.
"Stop staring at me creep! I'm telling Camila", I point my index finger at him while he is still laughing.
"Tell her, I don't care" he challenges.
"Oh, I'm so telling her!"
I'm not telling her.
"Whatever"
"Whatever"
After a few seconds of us just drinking quietly he gets up.
"Let me run to the store, we are low on soda, and I'm buying myself a snack, want anything?" he looks at me while putting his phone in his back pocket and checking his wallet for money.
"Nope", I popped the p, "I'll wait here" I give him one of my charming smiles.
He walks out the door and I seat back relaxing drinking my sucky Chinese wine.
Moments later, as I'm scrolling through my phone I see Paritosh emerging from the elevator making his way out. In his hands I see a beer bottle and in the other a cigarette.
"Par! Hey!" I wave at him a little over enthusiastically while having the goofiest smile ever.
"Did you just call me Par?" he seems dumbfounded as he comes near to me.
"Maybe. I don't know I can't remember" I started chuckling after that.
"Sapph, are you drunk already?" he asks trying to hold his laughter in.
"A little yeah"
He laughs at that, which I want to think was with me and not at me.
"Hey, come with me outside" he nods his head to the stairs outside. "We can talk while I smoke if it doesn't bother you"
"Alright, it doesn't"
It kind of does, but I can suck it up.
I stand up grabbing my drink and we sit down next to each other right outside on the steps.
