*AU where Sonia is nice*
Also, Bill won't have a stutter I don't think and Eddie may or may not have asthma, we'll see.
And, it's modern day.

Beep! Beep! Beep!

Eddie sighed internally as his alarm clock went off. It was time for school. He sat up and rubbed his eyes, yawning and stretching afterwards. He had a routine down by now; it was November first after all. Eddie couldn't wait to get to school and hear about all the stupid Halloween pranks Richie fucking Tozier pulled last night. He threw back the covers and got out of bed, quickly pulling on the first clean pair of jeans that he found as well as a tshirt. After he was dressed he made his way to the bathroom to brush his teeth and do his hair, and then he was downstairs.

"Morning mom!" He said cheerily as he walked into the kitchen.

"Morning sweetie! Breakfast is on the table, but I've got to get to work early again. You can walk to school, right?" Sonia was running around the kitchen trying to get everything together. Eddie laughed at her as he answered,

"I'll be fine, I'm in the tenth grade now and I would have been fine in the seventh grade. Get to work you crazy lady!" He called to her as she ran towards the front door.

"Bye honey, I love you!" Was the last thing Eddie heard from his mother as she slammed the front door. He chuckled to himself as he sat at the kitchen table to eat his breakfast. As Eddie ate, his mind started to wander.

He thought he was lucky to only have one class with Richie Tozier. You know, your typical bad guy: always getting into fights and replying to the teachers with smart remarks, and things of that nature. Richie was one person that Eddie just couldn't understand, so he didn't try to. The class that Eddie had with Richie was math second period. Sure, Richie had caused him plenty of headaches, but what could he do? Richie's assigned seat was at the very front row of the class, on the seat farthest to the left. Eddie's assigned seat was directly behind that. And there was no changing Mr. Wallace's mind once he made a decision.

Eddie realized then that he had spent far too long thinking about Richie, and got up to gather his books and lunch before heading out the door himself. Eddie always put in his headphones so he could occupy himself on the way to school. He only lived a couple of minutes away from the school, so he didn't have to leave very early if he wanted to be on time. When Eddie arrived at the school, he immediately went to his locker. Of course, his best friends Stanley and Bill were there waiting for him. They looked like they had something to get off their chests, so Eddie let them have their glory as he got his things out of his locker.

"Oh my god, did you hear what Richie did last night?" Stan exclaimed. Eddie rolled his eyes discreetly; he didn't think the Richie conversations would start this early.

"No I didn't. What did he do?" Eddie replied.

"He set fire to that old abandoned building on Neibolt street!" Bill cut in excitedly.

"Billllll! I wanted to tell him!" Stan whined childishly. Eddie couldn't help but laugh.

"Oh it's fine Stanley, you're gonna live. Also, he did what?" Eddie turned his attention from Stan to Bill again.

"He set fire to the-"

"I heard what you said, dipshit. I just can't believe- oh wait, yes I can believe it. This is Richie Tozier we're talking about." The warning bell rang as Eddie finished his sentence, and the three boys separated as they went to their respective classes.

Eddie's first period went by quickly, as it always does. He slowly made his way to math class, not looking forward to spending an hour listening to Richie talk about random nonsense. Eddie walked into class just in time to see Richie snap a pencil over his forehead. Eddie rolled his eyes as he walked in to the classroom, and Richie realized Eddie was there.

"Eds! My buddy! My number one! My main man! Did you hear what I did last night?" Richie literally shouted from across the room.

"Yes I did Rich, so shut up." Eddie snapped. Richie's face dropped, for a different reason than Eddie thought it would.

"You already know that I fucked your mother last night? Aw man, who told you." Richie faked wiping a tear from his eye.

"Richie, shut the fuck up. You're such an idiot." Eddie huffed as he sat in his seat, pulling out his binder, pencil, textbook, and calculator. Richie chuckled but turned around in his seat as Mr. Wallace walked into the room. Mr. Wallace was a very generic high school teacher; round belly and chubby red cheeks, wore glasses and had a little grey moustache, and always wore button ups with sweaters over them and khakis. Mr. Wallace got to teaching as Richie settled himself. Richie had this signature sitting position; leaning back in his chair with his legs spread open lazily. Not that Eddie tried to notice, it just sort of happened.

After Mr. Wallace explained the work, the class started on the practice problems. Richie didn't even pick up a pencil before speaking up.

"Mr. Wallet, I don't have a calculator."

Everyone looked up to see Mr. Wallace's reaction. He did not look happy, but knowing that he couldn't control Richie, he turned to make eye contact with Eddie.

"Eddie, would you be so kind as to share your calculator with Richie?" Mr. Wallace asked with gritted teeth. Eddie looked up from his work to Mr. Wallace, but out of the corner of his eye he saw Richie turn to him and smile smugly. Again, there was no changing Mr. Wallace's mind.

"Sure." Eddie replied annoyedly and handed his calculator over to Richie.

"Thanks doll face." Richie exclaimed over exaggeratedly while taking the calculator from Eddie and turning back around to do his work. Not even ten seconds after Richie had turned to do his work, he turned back to Eddie.

"Hey...pssst...Eddie." Richie whispered loudly. Eddie rolled his eyes; he was about ready to snap another pencil over this boy's head.

"What the hell do you want Richie?" Eddie asked. Richie smiled sheepishly, this was a new side of Richie that Eddie hadn't seen before. He was always so open and loud.

"I don't know how to use this calculator." The sheepish smile disappeared almost as soon as it appeared, and was replaced with yet another smug. "So you have to teach me how!" He tossed the calculator to Eddie and Eddie squinted his eyes at Richie as he caught the calculator.

"Okay then, get back here." Eddie kept hold of his anger for the boy sitting in front of him. Eddie leaned forward and Richie leaned back into Eddie's desk, and that's where the two spent the rest of the class; Eddie doing his work at his own desk and Richie laying his head on Eddie's desk, not doing any of his work. Eddie tried to get him off of his desk but eventually gave up, knowing that Richie wouldn't ever give in and go back to his own desk.
