The next few days passed by in a blur, and suddenly it was Saturday. Richie had done nothing all day and was bored out of his fucking mind.
"Hey Richie, remember that you have that math assignment you have to work on today. Okay?"
Eddie kept texting Richie, reminding him that he has work to do. But Richie didn't feel motivated to do anything unless Eddie was here to help him, he got distracted too easily. Nevertheless, he got out his math books and took out the assignment.
A week ago, he wouldn't have done this.
But he wanted to impress Eddie.
He genuinely, genuinely tried to get the assignment done. But, his attention span didn't let that happen. Every few minutes something else would interest him. After trying for an hour to get some work done, he threw his pencil across the room and laid his head in his hands.
Fuck.
He knew he needed to get this assignment done. And he had tried it, so what was the harm in asking Eddie for help?
"I've been trying for the last hour and I can't get anything done. U know me, I get easily distracted. If you're not busy, can u come help?"
Richie threw his phone next to him and went to find the pencil he had thrown. After ten minutes, Richie had found the pencil and Eddie had texted him back.
"Sorry Rich, I can't today. I have a date with Toby tonight. I'm free tmr tho if u are?"
Richie's eyes widened. A date, with Toby? The Toby from the ice cream place, the Toby that he fought with? Toby was left in just as bad of shape as Richie was, the only difference was Richie had Eddie there to help him out. As far as Richie knew, Eddie had not seen Toby since.
"Oh, ok. Yeah, tmrs good. 2pm?"
"I'll be there"
As much as Richie didn't want to admit it, he was disappointed. Not entirely because Eddie was going on a date, but because Eddie wasn't going to spend the evening with him. Richie, a little bit upset but no way in hell showing it, put all his books away and went downstairs to find something to eat.

Eddie was walking with his books over to Richie's house. He was a little down, because yesterday's date had not gone as well as he had hoped, and he needed to let it out and explain everything to someone.
That someone just so happened to be Richie.
Eddie walked up the steps to the door and rang the bell. A few seconds later, Nick opened the door.
"Hi Eddie, you here to tutor Rich?" He asked, stepping away from the door so Eddie could come in. Eddie nodded. "He's just upstairs in his room." Nick said, closing the door and leaving Eddie to himself. Eddie went upstairs and entered Richie's room, since the door was already open.
"Hi Rich." Eddie was met with the sight of Richie pulling on a t-shirt, leaving his chest exposed just long enough for Eddie to blush. Richie pretended not to notice, but he did bring to attention something else.
"Hi Eds. Are you okay? You seem upset." Eddie was silent for a moment before moving to sit on Richie's bed and sighing.
"Last night's date didn't go as well as I'd hoped." Eddie admitted. Richie, happy to hear this, sat next to Eddie and tried his best to be sympathetic. That wasn't really in his nature, but he had to try.
For Eddie.
"What happened?" Richie asked, with the full intent of listening to every words Eddie had to say.
