I honestly can't believe it! We won a trip to my hometown. I haven't been there in a while. I also haven't seen my mum in ages so this trip is gonna be great.
My family and I own a lakehouse by the river. It's very peaceful there. I'm in love with the place.
I miss my mum and sister a lot. I do call them a couple of times a week but not seeing them for about 3 years is harder than I thought.
I hope Niall is up for the trip. I really want him to come with me. I want him to meet my mum and sister. I'm sure my mum will love him. Wait! What am I saying?
My mum thinks I'm fully and completely straight. Not that Niall and I are anything more than friends but bringing home a guy might seem like more than friends.
I'll just tell my mum half the truth: Niall is my assistant, we became best friends, we went to a karaoke and won a trip.
The other half of the truth is that I have a huge crush on Niall but my mum doesn't need to know that.
Niall and I took a ticket each and right now I'm just playing with it. I read it through and I almost drop it when I see the date. 25th December
That's Christmas and also tomorrow. So that means today is Christmas Eve. Oh shit! I totally lost track of the days. With work, I don't really celebrate Christmas Eve or Christmas Day but I guess I am this year.

Niall: You're still awake?!
Harry: Yeah so are you. Pack your bags. I just read the date on the ticket and it's tomorrow morning so start packing.
Niall: Wait! What? So soon?
Harry: Do you have anything better to do?
Niall: No no. I'll start packing.
Harry: Great! I'll call my mum.
I know I'm not gonna manage to sleep so fuck it!
H: Hi mum
A: Hazz!
H: How are you doing ma?
A: I'm good, you?
H: Fine. I need to ask you something...
A: Anything for my baby
H: Would it be a lot to ask if a friend of mine and I come over for a few days. We won this trip last night and we have to use it by tomorrow. Is that ok?
A: Of course H! I haven't seen you in ages. Oh wow, I'm so excited. I can't wait to see you. Is it ok if I set up a double bed for you and your "friend"?
H: Yeah it's great. And ma...
A: Yeah?
H: He's just my friend, best friend.
A: HE?
H: Umm yeah. Like I said we're just friends.

I start packing some clothes, casual as well as formal. My mum is gonna think Niall is my boyfriend when he's really not.
Niall and I text back and forth all the time. I tried sleeping for a couple of hours but I couldn't. When it was 6am I decided to stop trying to sleep. I needed to be up by 7 and it was no use sleeping.
Niall and I both decided to take a cab to get to the airport.
I arrive before Niall and I wait a couple of minutes for him to arrive. It honestly felt like forever.
I see a small figure approaching me. I run up to him and hug him. "You're finally here"
"Yeah sorry mate. There was a lot of traffic"
"Merry Christmas Niall"
"Merry Christmas to you too Harry"
"Oh shit. I forgot to get presents for my Mum, sister and cousins and... everyone"
I don't usually buy them an actual gift. I usually just send them like a plane ticket to tour a country or something but I'm actually gonna spend Christmas with my family and it would be rude not to get gifts.
We board the plane at 9 and it's not a very long flight. "We need to go shopping before we go to my mum's house"
"You do know it's Christmas right? Who works on Christmas?"
"Oh god. This can't be happening. I mean there has to be a shop that opens"
I stare and think for some time. "Hal's Shopping Mall"
"What?"
"It never closes"
So we get a ride there and yes, I was correct. It was open and so were the shops. I also need to get something for Niall but I can't do that with him next to me.
I buy my mum and Gemma many things: Flowers Chocolates An Ipad The New IPhone A Smart TV Clothes Shoes Jewellery
I also buy toys for my younger cousins and watches and stuff for my uncles and aunts. Niall's gift is all I have left to buy.
"Ni. I need to go to the bathroom quickly. Wait for me here yeah?"
"Sure"
I sprint to a jewellery shop and get him his gift. I then rush back upstairs.
"You ok H?"
"Yes yes. I was just worried something happened to you!"
I hide his gift in my jacket. I could tell Niall was nervous about meeting my mum.
"Does your mum know I'm a guy?"
"Yeah. I told her last night. Don't worry, I told her we're just friends."
He loosens up a bit. We buy churros from a shop in the mall itself. Niall looked adorable eating his.

He moaned sometimes and then he got embarrassed about it but I didn't think it was weird. They did taste amazing after all.
"So what's your mum like?"
"Well, she's very funny and kind. She's 50. Her name is Anne. She loves cats and chocolate, strawberries and wine. My parents are separated. She lives with her boyfriend called Robin and my sister Gemma. She also loves music. Gemma is my older sister, she's 27 and she has a boyfriend who she doesn't shut up about. She's very embarrassing."
"Why?"
"Ok so when I had my first girlfriend, my mum insisted for me to bring her home for dinner so I did. Gemma told her my embarrassing stories and also that I had a huge crush on One Direction. Gemma said and I quote 'You'd think he's gay because of his obsession with 1D'. My ex being stupid thought I was actually gay and she broke up with me."
"Wow. She was stupid to ever leave you"
I blush a bit. Was he trying to flirt with me? No, I'm just reading it all wrong.
