A District Two Story

Chapter 7

It has been a week since the games started and there are only five tributes left. I killed Jemma and Carter in their sleep last night, the games were about to get serious. The only people left were the boys from districts 3, 7, and 10, and the girl from 8 and me. The only problem was that there was no food left for me to eat. Just as I thought that I heard the  jingling sound of bell outside of the cornucopia. A sponsor gift! I thought. I ran out and grabbed the silver box and opened it up. It had a ton of food and a note that said "I hope your hungry." It was probably Amber, I thought. I grab a roll when I see a blur go by behind the cornucopia. A person! I grab my bow and shoot. A cannon went off and I ran over to see who it was. It was the boy from 10. We are down to 4 tributes. My new plan is to just stay in the cornucopia and let the others kill each other until it is just two of us left.

   It has been two days. Nothing has happened, until now. I hear a scream and then a cannon. Someone is dead. Another cannon, only two left. By the sound of that screaming, I guess the gamemakers must have gotten bored and sent in mutts. The thought sends chills through my body. I decide it is time for me to find the last tribute left besides me. The district 7 boy. My plan is to find him and kill him in his sleep. Yes, that is the easist way. I am ready to go home.

   I grab my bow and arrows. I start the trek up the mountian where I saw smoke coming from this morning. He must have thought he was safe now. Big mistake. I find the spot where he is but he is not asleep. I plan to hide behind a boulder until he falls asleep and shoot him then. I start to walk over there then "snap". I stepped on a twig. He turned an threw his knife at me. I scream. It hit me in the leg. Before he can do anymore damage I shoot him in the chest. The cannon goes off and I break down. I am on the ground crying tears of pain, but also joy. I, Scarlet Grey, have won the 62nd Hunger Games.
