"All she could think was that she needed him. She needed his arms around her, needed him to hold her and whisper that they'd find a way to be together."

Thea
Terror
That's what I felt as the bullet pierced through Asher's body and his lifeless body come tumbling to the ground. Snapping from my daze I run up to him and cradle his head in my arms. A sense of deja vu hits me like a ton of bricks. I remember how I held Jake in my arms as he said his final words and I pray to all the gods out there that this time it won't be Asher.
Like many times tears start to flow uncontrollably down my face and I start whispering his name.
"Thea."
His voice rings in my head and it takes all the will power I have not to turn around and punch him to death because I know I just might do that.
"Thea."
I burry my head in Asher's slow rising chest and ignore his calls again. I hear footsteps and low whispers but I stay in Asher's arms. After a few minutes I feel someone pulling me off of him and I start kicking and punching the air. Zeke pulls me out of the room and I see the men surround Asher and fear crawls up me even more.
"Calm down Thea!"
I finally free from myself from his grip and try to get back into the room but strong arms wrap around my waist.
"Let go of me Zeke!"
"Thea I need you to calm down. They are trying to help him."
"No! They will kill him! All of you are just heartless monsters!"
"Zeke," Ada calls down the hallway. "Let the girl go!"
"But-"
"Now," she says sternly as she nears us.
He lets me go and I run to her open arms.
"He's hurt Ada... they shot him and he's not opening his eyes. Zeke won't let me see him Ada, I need to see him. Please take me to him... please," I cry out into her chest.
I don't care how pathetic this is but I can't lose another person, I just can't.
"You don't love my son do you?"
I stop crying and I pull my head from her chest to look at her face. With a tear stained eyes I look at her with guilt.
"Ada-"
She wipes the tears away from my face and looks at me with a small smile. More guilt washes over me as I see one tear small down her face.
"Maybe it was too good to be true that this could have happened.... that a girl like you could ever agree to marry someone who is my son but I had hope."
"I am so sorry," I say.
She just smiles at me and I think back to just a few hours before when the smile didn't hold so much pain.

"You two know each other?" Ada asks surprised.
I continue to glare at Zeke as gives Ada a small smile. "Yes ma, you could say we go way back."
Wait! What?
"Ma!"
Ada looks at me in shock for my sudden outburst, but Zeke just looks chill as a cucumber.
"This is your son!" I say pointing to Zeke.
Ada nods and smiles at him. How the hell can someone like him come from someone as sweet as Ada? Still confused and in shock Zeke walks up to me and does the most unexpected thing ever. He wraps his arms around my waist and plants his lips on mine.
What the hell is going on?
Before I can push him away he removes his lips and leans over to my ear. "Play along Shorty." Still confused he smiles at me and then turns to his mom, who looks very surprised.
"Ma," Zeke says slowly. "I- we have something to tell you."
I am still confused as to what's going on and I just stare at him waiting for what he has planned up his sleeve.
"Thea and I are engaged, we plan to have the wedding as soon as possible."
My jaw hits the ground but before I can do any physical damage to him Ada tackles both of us with a bear hug.
"I am so happy for you two!" She yells and brings me away from Zeke's hold and into hers. "I been waiting years for this day! When did this happen? How did you two meet? When is the wedding? Are you pregnant? Am I going to be a grandma?"
"Ma!" Zeke snaps Ada out of her daze. "We meet a few years ago and I just proposed to her before coming here. We didn't plan the wedding yet and no she is not pregnant."
A huge smile spreads on her face and she cradles my face in her arms. "Welcome to the family dear, even if it is just me and him we will cherish you till you get tired of us."
Before leaving us she plants a kiss on my forehead and hugs Zeke. My heart aches for the poor clueless women but my sadness quickly replaces with furry. I turn around and tackle Zeke to the ground and pin his arms above his head.
"What the hell do you want?" I seethe.
"You like playing rough don't you Shorty," he says winking.
I growl again and this time I put pressure on his stomach by jamming my knee in to him. He lets out a groan and suddenly he flips me over.
"I told you on the first day Shorty," he whispers. "Your good but not good enough."
"Why are you doing this to that poor women?" I spit. "How can you even call her your mom?"
He gets off of me and I get up ignoring his out stretched hand. He sits on the edge of the bed and I still stand staring at him.
"The Tsar wants the money he can get from the Tech. Since you are the daughter of Cahill you and only you have the authority over the Tech legally. He isn't scared of the law but Black is, that's why he always sends his men to do the dirty work. I am his second in command so if I marry you it will grant me the authority as well. "
"You sick bastard. How do you know I will go with your plan?" I yell.
"I know your weakness Thea. You care too much about people and you fail too see their true self. Right now, we have Asher and Damien under our control. You might not care for Damien but I know you will give your life for Asher. The same goes with me knowing you won't tell my ma anything. Like it or not you have a soft spot for a woman you just met."
I hate this.
I hate how he is so damn right. I do care for people too much even if it isn't good for me, I started to trust Zeke too quickly and now look where I am.
"The wedding will take place in one month from now. You might not like the sudden wedding but I am a very important man in the mafia next to the Tsar. You will be considered as a princess in the eyes of everyone here so don't disappoint me."
He gently takes my hand and slips on a decent size diamond ring on my finger. It falls limply to my side as he leaves the room.
How the fuck do I get out of this?
