THIRTY| Lavanjah

SIX MONTHS LATER...

             "This wasn't the crowd I was expecting." Romaine muttered to him nervously, as he himself eyed the crowded room of people. Everyone was either admiring his art or eyeing his brother, Wendy and himself it seems to be a constant battle. "Do you think they only buying my work because your my best friend?" Romaine asked under his breath as he fidget with his Jacket. 

"Your work is amazing Romaine! Both painting and Photographs." He complimented his friends.

"Despite what made them come out, They are here and you deserve this after all that late night keeping me up just to get the right angle and colors." He touch both his arm.

"Okay, I'm just nervous to hear the numbers later." he mumbled.

     "I heard Vanessa needed bodyguards to  watch her while she deals with the cards and cash, So I'll say you doing great. Just breath," he told him.

"Fingers cross." he mumbled as he stood back beside him as Wendy walked up to him. "Your work is amazing!" she pulled him into a hug. "I snatch up two photos and two painting. One each for the babies room." she exclaims.

"Lamar is paying for them reluctantly." she wink at us. 

"Babies?" Lavanjah asked. 

      "Yes, I am having twins." Wendy lean in and whispered to us.

"Does he know?" Romaine asked, taking the exact question out of his mouth.

"Nope, I am surprising him later, So not a word." She warned us as a smile appear on his lips.

    "Our lips are sealed." Romaine announced.

                   "Wendy! Is that you?" A familiar voice asked in glee and shock. Wendy turned and her face lit up as our gaze landed on Leah dress in a one shoulder Whiter gown, Her Jet black hair was pulled into a bun upon her head. "Did you know that she was coming?" Lavanjah asked Romaine. 

    "No, She haven't even replied to my texts or invitation." Romaine answered starring at Leah in awe. We watch as both women embrace each other excitedly. "Do I look okay?" Romaine asked, tugging at his tie. "Yes," He said as both women walked over to us.

  "Leah I want you to meet my brother in law Lavanjah Blade and his best friend Romaine Dodd." Wendy introduce us. "We've met." Leah stated out.

"Nice to see you again Leah," Lavanjah smiled at her.

"Nice to see you again." she shook his hand.

     "Romaine," she stated with a shaky breath.

"Is that how you dress for work everyday?" he asked, eyeing her with a smile.

       "Do you have a problem with the way I dress Romaine?" Leah asked with a bit of irritation.

"No you look beautiful. But I rather your hair down and all over the place." he flirted.

      "Am I missing something?" Wendy asked.

"Um they kinda met and kinda have unfinished business." Lavanjah told her.

          "Is Romaine the guy you were telling me about last summer?" Wendy asked.

"So you do tell someone about me?" Romaine pipe in.

" I told her all the bad stuff if that's what you wanna know." Leah eyed him up and down.

      "If you call all those stuff bad, What do I call sex with Lamar?" Wendy grin at her shakily and nervous. "Leah is my best friend from college but we went into different occupation after her parents were mysteriously murdered." Wendy said whispering the last part so only we could hear. "I think your talking too much now," Leah glare at her best friend.
