-TWENTY THREE-
HUNTER held the ceramic hospital phone in his grip as he waited on his father to pick up the phone on his end. He wouldn't be surprise if he didn't they didn't have the best relationship but they talk whenever it was necessary. Max, Catherine and Kat's father stood at the corner waiting. He slowly turn his back to them as he waited, After about good half second there was a beep then he heard his rough voice.
"This number is for emergency only," he snap into the phone.
"Hi Dad," he stated in a cool voice as he lean up off the receptionist desk.
"What's the emergency?" he asked irritated.
"How's Afghanistan?" He smiled into the phone.
"Why are you calling me from the hospital?"
"Because I am in the hospital, I left my cellphone at the office." he slightly joke.
"What's wrong with you?" he asked, sounding somewhat concern.
"I'm perfectly healthy, thanks for asking." Hunter replied a bit sarcastic.
"Well bye," he repeated
"Dad I was the one who call," he grasp out.
"I need a favor," he blurted out before he could the slam phone in his ears like he always do. Hunter bite at his bottom lip as he listen to his father sigh into the phone, probably rubbing his neck back. Hunter couldn't understand why he always think long before he do anything for him but if it was Evan or Matt he'll wouldn't even blink to give them what they desire or asked.
"What is it?" he asked after awhile.
"You remember Kat?" he asked.
"Your friend who seems to have mental issues, the one who smash my vase in my rover because you wouldn't let her into the house. Yes I remember the mad woman, what's going on?" he stated in one sentence.
"Do you remember that doctor who help Cousin Deccan with his issues ?" he asked, raising his voice specifically at the word issues. He knows he won't take long to pick up on what he's talking about because everyone in the family knows about but wasn't permitted to speak about it, especially in public.
"Yeah, Why? Have she finally gone insane."
"I have warned you about that woman." he almost chuckled.
"I'm serious," he snap at him.
His patience of how he treats him was slowly threading thin.
"What do you want me to do?" he asked.
"I want you to set an appointment for my friend. Can you do that?" he asked glaring at the pale receptionist counter top. "That's a big favor," he muttered out.
"I don't care, I just want my friend back." he stated with sadness etch in his voice as he pick at a piece of wood that was sticking out of the board. "What's her full name?" he asked after awhile.
"Katherine Rita Durance, Her name is spell with a K not a C." he replied.
"Okay," he uttered as he hear shuffling in the background.
"I'll make a call and get back to you," he said as the phone hangs up in his ear. He waited for a second before he took the phone from his ears and place it on the hook. He turn to see Catherine and Max discussing something in hush tone while Stephanie was seated on the wooden bench with both of kids sleeping on both his legs.
