Chapter 1

"Sweetheart, how's the salon trip? Did you love it?" your mother asked as she clean the table making sure no dust will be visible on the glass keeping precious pictures inside.
"Mhm, it's good. My hair is gray now, I should probably dye it red next month eomma (mother/mom)."
"Oh sure sweety, it's your choice. I'll treat you again don't worry." and she left the table with a smile after fixing the picture frames and figurines that looked aesthetically pleasing with your newly renovated house.
"Oh, you're here. I didn't see you, you're blending with the dirty floor, maybe that's why it's hard to notice you, by the way, like my new hair color?"
You rolled your eyes in annoyance as your 'step' sister insulted you again for the nth time today. You stood up and picked every piece of your thesis paper and went straight to your room tired of hearing the sweet conversation between your sister and mother, well you're not going to your room but your shared room with your sister. They made you share rooms purposely so you could have a 'bonding time'.
You plopped down the bed as you started to scan the papers one by one and sending it to your friend who you left in the province. You smiled after you completed the paper works, she was your partner for your thesis defense but now she's going solo for you migrated and left her alone, you felt bad so you did the paper work for her letting her focus on the defense and memorization parts.
You sent a short motivation message to her wishing her the best for the upcoming thesis defense. You closed your laptop and kept the papers in a binder while closing the scanner.
Your step sister suddenly barged into the room looking at you with disgust on her face as she removed her jewelries getting ready for bed. She closed the jewelry box with force producing a great shattering sound, it caused you to flinch from your spot and you looked at her annoyed.
"I hate sharing."
She blurted out and kicked your luggage. You grabbed your bags and set them on your side of the room. She blabbered again and continued to glare on you.
"Then get me a new separate room, your father is rich." you eye smiled at her and started to unpack your clothes putting them on your own cabinet.
"How demanding, you're just new here."
She immediately threw whatever she's holding to you after saying her sharp words, it hit you in the head and it is a perfume bottle which to your surprise is expensive as hell.
"What a hoe." you whispered to yourself and you winced in pain, it made you stop your actions for a second.
It made a great impact causing a cut on your forehead which poured out blood. She just shrugged and grinned but the moment she saw that her perfume was now broken and the liquid was dripping out she started to glare intensely at you.
"Pay for it or I'll make you pay with your life."
You laughed bitterly and continued to organize your clothes. She shrieked at the move you did and this time around she threw the heels she's wearing.
"Big brands didn't design their products just for you to throw like that." and with your comment you immediately closed your empty luggage and this time it was you who is smirking.
"Fucker, who told you to talk back at me like that? I'm older at you bitch."
"Yeah, you are but your mentality is like a five year old kid." and with that you got out of the room holding onto the walls for support, you're feeling dizzy but cared less. It was just a cut, no big deal.
Because in the future you know there will be much worse than that.

After cleaning up your wound you stepped into the shower for a short hot bath. You need to relax for at least half an hour so your muscles can loosen and your mind could rest.
You enjoyed your little pampering hour and you went out and dressed simple. You blow dried your frizzy hair and tied it up.
"Girls, come down, it's dinner time!"
You heard your mom shout from the kitchen. You finished fixing your things and went down. Your step sister must be in the house or backyard somewhere and your glad she isn't in the room with you or else the tension might get thick again.
"Sit down." you smiled at your mother and step father.
"Oh sweetheart, you're here! Come sweety, sit down."
After hearing the lovely nickname that your mother gave your step sister, tears started brimming your tired eyes but you blinked it away.
How lovely the nickname was but it doesn't fit the monster in front of you.
"Y/n? What's that on your forehead?"
You choked on your food hearing your step father call your name. You awkwardly smiled as you touch the bandage on your head.
You're close to answering when your step sister butt in the conversation.
"Oh, my little sister was borrowing my perfume that was placed on a high shelf when she tripped while trying to reach it and the bottle hit her head. I should've helped her but it's too late, I'm sorry Y/n."
She reached for your hand while giving you some puppy dog eye bullshit. You know she's acting but you did nothing and nodded while taking off your hand from her grip.
You don't want your mother to be dissapointed because of you if you show your new family an attitude so you played along.
She retreated her hand and your family talked again on how it's okay having little accidents, you blocked your ears again not caring about whatever they're talking about.
You miss your old, happy and complete family but it's in the past.
You were close in finishing your dinner when your mother squealed in excitement. Not knowing what's happening you payed attention this time.
But you wish you didn't because what's about to happen is not what you wanted.
"Thank you Adalyn for volunteering to tour Y/n at her new university tomorrow. I hope you'll have enough bonding time, Y/n your sister will guide you to your new school okay? She'll be your company."
Your mind says no but your body reacted a yes. You nodded while glaring at your step sister having the fakest smile.
And this is the start of your hell.
