"Yes, sir. I completely understand. Okay. I'll be back in a week, sir"

Belinda listened as William talked to his superior in charge.

William hangs up and sighs deeply while Belinda watches him anxiously.

"I need to go back" He tells her, avoiding eye contact.

Belinda just shakes her head in denial.

"But ..." She couldn't finish her sentence. How could she? She knew it was bound to happen, so where was she going with that sentence?

"It was gonna happen " He told her while walking to her and wrapping his arms around her. She sighed.

"Hey, I came home once. I'll do it again"

Belinda said nothing.

"Do you trust me?" William asked her.

"Yes" She answered without hesitation. She trusted him so she didn't have to think twice about her answer.

"Perfect. Then trust me when I say that I will come back home. I'll come back in one piece. I promise you." He told her with a tight smile, because even he wasn't so sure if he could keep that promise. He was trying to convince himself just as much as he was trying to convince her.

"Pinky promise?" Belinda said in a small voice. A pinky promise to them was important and unbreakable.

He sighed and looped his pinky with hers.

"Pinky promise." He reassured her while leaning in and giving her a kiss.

Keeping this pinky promise isn't going to be as easy as you think, baby.

William thought to himself. He barely made out of it alive the last time and if it wasn't for Drew he would be dead right now too.

FLASHBACK

"GOD DAMNIT WILL GET BACK IN HERE" Drew screamed as William left his cover to kill another guy.

Gunshots were heard from every direction. William and Drew were taking cover behind a wrecked tank and the enemies seemed to spawn from everywhere; it was obvious the ambush was very well planned and they would be lucky to make it out alive.

"I CAN'T JUST STAY HERE WHEN THEY CAN KILL US ANY FUCKING SECOND DREW"

Andrew knew Will was right. They were both leaving their cover to kill as many as they could before they had to take cover again. This went on until a soldier close by got shot. It was Mitch, a close friend of theirs, and he was really badly hurt.
