mini chapter 12

"You're pitch is off, try widening your mouth when you sing," Coach Solar tells the group of girls, specifically Hannah.

Hannah sings her line again, widening her mouth when needed so she can get the note right.

"That sounded a lot better!" Coach Solar says and Hannah smiles.

"Now, Minah and Orion, can you go over the chorus again?" Coach Solar says.

The girls nod before singing the chorus of the song they plan on performing at the upcoming showcase. 

The three girls, along with Jinghua and Suntae who were currently practicing with the rap coaches, decided to perform together.

"Minah, you're cutting the ends of your words off," Solar says. "It sounds like you're rushing, try singing it  a little slower and say the full words,"

Minah nods before starting over, trying not to cut off her words. In the middle of her singing, Minah's voice cracks, sending the girls into a laughing fit.

"Why don't we stop here, you guys all improved a lot and worked hard," Solar says, smiling at the girls. "Go get some water and rest  bit,"

"Thank you coach," Mingxia says, smiling at her. The three girls leave the room to grab some water.

"I can't believe your voice cracked," Hannah says to Minah.

"I didn't mean to!" Minah says, laughing. "It was an accident,"

"Just make sure it doesn't happen at the showcase," Mingxia says.

"I know," Minah says. "I wont let that happen,"

As they make their way to the cafeteria, they run into Haneul, Jimin and Jinyoung who were covered in sweat.

"What have you guys been doing?" Hannah asks. "You guys are soaked,"

"We were with Jaemin and Henry, practicing our dance for the showcase," Jimin answers.

"Oh, you guys decided to team up?" Minah asks.

"Yup," Jinyoung answers, smiling at her.

"What song are you guys doing?" Mingxia asks.

"It's a secret," Haneul says. "Are you guys a group too?"

"Yeah," Mingxia says.

"What song are you doing?" Jimin asks.

"It's a secret," Minah mocks Haneul who just rolls his eyes and laughs.

They walk into the cafeteria as a group and they head for the water section.

Hannah opens one of the fridges, only to find it empty.

"What happened to all of the water?" Hannah asks, surprised.

"Minji took the last bottle," Areum explains. "The staff said they'll refill it in a few minutes, someone just went out to buy more,"

"How did they run out of water that quick?" Jimin asks.

"Everyone's been practicing hard," Areum says.

"Yeah," Minah says. "I'm gonna go meet up with Junhyeong so we can practice our duet, I'll just stop by the water fountain,"

The other five say bye to Minah before complaining about being exhausted and wanting water before they die.

Minah, not paying attention and being the clumsy person she is, almost trips over Yuujin, who is sitting on the floor in the hallway with his legs spread out.
