The group is the first girl group made by Sunrise Entertainment. The group debuted on December 20, 2017 with their debut mini album "Whistle" and with four members, Soni, Willow, Mina and Hanna.

2017 - Present: Debut, Identity
On December 20, 2017, StarX made their official debut stage on the music program M Countdown. Their debut mini album, "Whistle", was digitally released on December 22.
StarX released their first full album "Identity" and its music video on February 9, 2018. Their title track "Remember" was described as having a modern sound topped with a vintage guitar sound.
