Lunch with my family and Alex went surprisingly well. I was expecting my sisters to embarrass me more than my mom's would. All four of them were so wonderful to Alex and never embarrassed me. Charlie on the other hand didn't per say embarrass me but told Alex about my nightmares and that I have to talk to a therapist.
"Quinny has to see a lady every week to talk to her about his nightmare," Charlie says instantly causing the table to become silent. "I sleep in his bed with him to help him not be scared at night."
Tears instantly spring to my eyes not because I was upset with my brother but because he was right, I sleep better with him in the bed with me. I lower my head in shame that my four year old brother makes me feel better more than my medicine does.
I see Alex turn toward me slightly through my fringe. "I never knew you had nightmares," he says quietly to me, worry laced in his voice.
I nod picking my head up to try and fake my best smile to him and everyone else especially Charlie. I don't want Charlie to feel bad about his comment, he was being honest. "Um, yeah, I see a therapist because of them, I'll explain later what the nightmares are about." I motion toward Charlie and Alex understands that I don't want to mention what they are about in front of my little brother. Alex nods in understanding and the subject changes to the game on Friday night.
Two hours after Alex arrived for lunch we head out on our date. I smirk at Alex's truck, it's my ultimate favorite vehicle. He owns a black Dodge Ram 1500.
"Nice truck, my favorite type," I tell him shyly as he opens my door for me, he closes the door after I'm settled in and he hurries around to his side, climbing in and settling himself before starting the truck and pulling out and heading toward wherever we're going.
Pulling into a parking lot of the fair that is happening this weekend he parks and turns his truck off. Climbing out of the truck we head to the entrance and before I can pay for my bracelet, Alex has bought both of ours.
Smirking at me he tells me, "I invited you on this date, so its my treat." Blushing at him I tell him thanks as we intertwine our fingers together heading inside. We head off to ride the rides but I'm to embarrassed to tell him I'm afraid of roller coasters so I cling to him every coaster causing him to chuckle at me telling me that I'm just to cute for my own good.
After riding all the roller coasters we decide to ride something that wouldn't freak me out as badly before we head to grab something from one of the food wagons. Giggling at what Alex was saying to me as we sit side by side at a picnic table with our slices of pizza and our sodas.
I was still giggling when I my head was slammed into the picnic table top. I turn to see William and his two buddies standing behind Alex and I. I can feel the color drain from my face as soon as I see them and hear their laughter. Instantly shaking I turn back around trying to ignore them as they continue to laugh at me.
"Hey, cheer-queer; spreading you germs to the best football player on the team?" William taunts causing me to hang my head. Sniffling as the tears stream down my cheeks, I know now Alex will rethink our relationship now that he sees firsthand what he'll have to deal with when he comes out to the school on Monday.
I see Alex stand to face them out of the corner of my eye. I knew it, he's going to leave me, and he doesn't want this or me. Alex surprises me when he punches William in the jaw. My jaw drops in shock but yet I'm so very turned on at the sight of him standing up for me and what we have together.
Alex turns his attention to William's friends, he growls out, "Either one of you dickheads want to say anything against Quinn?" They shake their heads violently no before they help William to his feet as he holds his nose that is gushing blood.
