"Larry, Laurent is in his apartment freaking out big time."

"What's wrong with him?"

Thea gave him a look of exasperation. "I don't know Larry! I just know he raging on about Gabi and throwing shit!"

That news brought Larry to full attention. "Oh, okay," he stated and took off at a quick walk. It wasn't a long walk to Laurent's wing of their penthouse, but at the moment it seemed a mile away. Larry picked up an easy yet purposeful jog when he heard an unknown - but clearly fragile - object shatter against a wall or something equally hard. What the fuck is he doing, he cursed silently. As he reached Laurent's door he slowed his mind and took a deep breath. Lau, you better be fucking listening because I don't want no shit thrown at me when I walk through this door, Larry thought pointedly. It was quiet behind the door so he figured now was as good a time as any to head in.

"Were you jerking off out there or something motherfucker? I told you to come in," Laurent's tone was heated, "or did you no listen?"

"Uh, okay bro, so you need to calm the fuck down. Of course I heard you but did you think I was going to believe you right now?" Larry was already over all of this and he didn't even know what happened to set his brother off like this. He had his guesses though so he decided to stick out Laurent's dramatics. For a bit anyway. "So what is going on?" Good Larry, keep it simple.

Laurent looked hard at Larry. He hated and loved that his brother knew things before they were said. Right now though, he hated it. Because Larry may know the what, but he didn't know the details and it troubled Laurent deeply that he didn't know how Larry was going to react. The more he mulled the angrier he got. He curled his fingers around the back of a chair, pushing himself back and forth in mini push-ups.

Larry's eyes narrowed watching his brother struggling to keep himself in check. "K, Lau, you need to tell me what's got your mind all fucked up like this...I know it's about Gabi."

Laurent looked at Larry then exploded. "Gabi fucking left me! That's what happened! She told me she don't know me anymore and walked out, left me at the fucking table like a fucking idiot Larry!" The last sentence betrayed Laurent's hurt and vulnerability, but frankly, it just pissed Larry off. His brother didn't have a right to be upset.

"Good for her! She should have left your ass a long time ago," Larry said with a smirk.

"What the hell are you saying bro?" Laurent's voice had lowered menacingly, as if he thought he could intimidate Larry.

"I'm saying it makes no sense why you so messed over this! You don't love her! You treat her like shit except when you want a fuck when you're in town! You're a fucking bastard with Gabi. She deserves better than you and you know it's true Lau. That's what has you so mad!"

The twin brothers stared each other down, each trying to figure out Laurent's next move. Larry figured he might take a swing. Or maybe break down like he'd done during the last tour with Beyonce. He didn't expect what Laurent did though, and he could not have anticipated where it would later take them.

"Right Larry," he hissed, "all that bullshit coming from you? Who's got a baby momma you were screwing while you were seeing someone else? Who's got a woman he loves but won't tell her and is afraid to even be seen with?"

"My brother, you need to stop. Now. You don't want to go down this road." Larry's words were heavy with warning.

Leaning slightly toward Larry, Laurent lowered his voice and spat out his words, "Who's got a little daughter he barely sees or even talks to? Even when she cries for you to stay, who says I'm busy then go straight to the club? Who Larry?"

Laurent's words were like a match dropped on spilled gasoline. Larry's anger was set ablaze. He adjusted his snapback in effort to gain control. Finally, his voice a deep growl, "My brother...you dont want to start down this road."

"Right Larry, I forget. Your life is off limits. You think you're better than me, right? You can judge my life, judge me, but I'm not allowed to say nothing about yours." Laurent scoffed and flung his arm toward Larry as he turned away.

This had all gone much further than he wanted. He hadn't wanted this at all. He needed Larry. He needed his thoughtfulness, his love, to help get his mind straight. He felt out of control but pride and fear simply wouldn't allow him to back peddle. He pressed his palms to his temples to stop the tremors and hide his weakness from Larry. But Larry saw, he knew Laurent was teetering on an edge. His first instinct was to go to his twin and bring him close. That was all Larry wanted, actually, because he knew Lau. He knew knew his words were just fear and drama. But Larry's anger at Laurent's words overwhelmed everything because it was an anger rooted in the knowledge that most of what his brother said was true. Seeing yourself, being honest with yourself, is a bitch.

"Get out Lau, I don't want to fucking look at you!" Larry screamed.

"You can't kick me out of my own apartment motherfucker!"

Rather than sounding pissed off and cocky, Larry heard Laurent scared and pleading. He didn't know what it was that made him snap. Maybe too much time together. Or maybe all of the tours and travel and workshops and other shit had him so tired all the time. Granted he had been holding up better than Laurent. Laurent had been in worse and worse health lately, everyone could see it now, not just Larry. But despite that, Beyonce and Jay-Z and the production team kept pushing and pushing and Lau kept going harder. That had kept Larry's anger simmering the past 6 months, except he didn't always know who he was mad at - his brother or everyone else. Was he angry at their life, or just Laurent, for changing so much and in so many ways that Larry hated? Larry mentally shook himself, get it together and stop this philosophical bullshit!

Casting an angry glower ar Laurent, Larry hissed, "I don't want to see your face. I'm done with this shit," and turned and left, slamming the door behind him.
