Most people would think she was crazy, but Sarah was starting to get uncomfortable with her all expenses paid trip to Paris. People could probably point to far more significant reasons she was crazy, truth be told, but her present situation was most important to her right now. She thought about contacting her guide to take her somewhere, but that was part of this whole "all expenses" deal. Same with room service, movies, in-room massages, laundry, the list went on. Something had to change.

And she had not heard from Thea since they had met four days ago. It irked her. She knew Thea had her hands full with everything, but at least a text saying "hey, haven't forgotten you!" would have been nice. She wanted to meet Laurent and Larry at this point because she was so fucking bored! So she decided to check in herself. She grabbed her phone and started texting.

Hey there! Wanted to check in, it's been a few days.

A few minutes later Sarah's phone vibrated against the table.

Sarah, I apologize for not being in touch. Laurent is out of the hospital...

Sarah waited for Thea to continue. Finally, after five minutes had passed, she started a response. Before she could send though, Thea's came through.

Things are not going so well here.

That was all the text said, but it was saying so much more. Sarah frowned, she had known something wasn't right when she hadn't heard from Thea. Damn it! I should have contacted her sooner, she thought, knowing she was placing undue guilt on herself.

What's not going well?

Don't really know. Larry is going to get sick, he can't fix it. Me too. I can't help him. Or Lau.

Sarah thought is was an odd way to put it, Larry getting sick because he couldn't fix it. Fix what? But Sarah did catch one thing, it was Larry that Thea was in love with. Don't ask how she knew from that text, she always just had a knack for picking up on those kind of things. She grinned wistfully at the phone for a moment. She was not exactly sure why she wrote her next text. Maybe because she wanted to feel useful. Maybe because she was just bored or just wanted to meet Les Twins. But she knew it wasn't really those things, at least not entirely. She needed to see Laurent. Needed, not wanted.

Can I be of any help? I think I told you I'm a nurse. If I could help relieve you or Larry, sounds like you need that. Let me know, k?

She waited ten, twenty, thirty minutes for a response then she finally accepted that there would not be one forthcoming. Half disappointed, half relieved, she stood and stripped out of her clothes. Time for a long shower.

As Sarah stepped into her shower, not far away - walking distance, but she did not know that of course - Thea was stepping into Larry's apartment. She did not make a habit of walking in without invitation but he not Laurent answered her texts and neither came to the door when she knocked. She was not one to assume the worst, at least she didn't used to be, she she quietly let herself in.

She was greeted by the sight of Larry sitting on the couch, earbuds in, playing on his phone. Laurent was fallen sideways against him, his head on his twin's shoulder. Thea was struck by how identical they were in that moment, something about the angle or lighting maybe, but with their arms hidden under long sleeves there was a moment when only their hair was different. She almost wanted to rub her eyes to make sure she wasn't just seeing double.

Larry saw movement from the corner of his eye when Thea walked quietly into the room. He looked up and saw her smiling softly at him. He pulled out one earbud, sending a tired smile back. He beckoned her to come with a wave of his hand, then patted the seat cushion next to him. She came and sat down. He was so drained he just let his head fall back then roll sideways to look at her.
