It was his stomach that woke him. Mouth watering aromas how found their way into his room from the kitchen. God I hope this isn't a dream. He grabbed a pair of shorts from the floor that didn't look dirty, gave them a sniff, then sort of fell into them in an uncoordinated fashion. He scrubbed his eyes, patted his cheeks and for the first time in days felt like he had joined the waking world. He wandered out into the hall and followed his nose to the kitchen. Elodie could make a hell of a breakfast, but she wasn't the one in there. Who was made Larry's face light up, and a grin spread across hers when she saw him.
"Well hey there, I was beginning to think I was going to have to wake you up in a creative way." Her tone was light, joking and a bit seductive.
"Mmm, I would have liked that...I can go back to bed you know." His smile grew when she blushed but did not look down or away. He was so in love with her, and let's be honest, he also wanted her, badly. How could he not look at her, she was perfection. He bit his lower lip, never taking his eyes off of her, then noticed a cocky smirk had replace her grin.
"Looks like the rest gave you some, uh, energy?"
He followed her eyes downward to his crotch and his growing erection tenting the fabric of his shorts. Now it was his turn to blush as Thea's bold gaze stayed on him. For all of his big talk and sexy stage persona, Larry was, in reality, quite awkward around women, particularly if the topic of sex came up. Ha. So he tried to adjust himself as coolly as possible, silently instructing his dick to stand the fuck down!
"Ha, right! Well, it's morning and you're beautiful, I couldn't stop myself," he gave her what he hoped was a confident smirk. It probably looks like I'm in pain, he grumbled inwardly.
"Um, so Larry, it's not morning exactly, I just thought you'd like breakfast food when you got up," she paused looking at the confusion on his face. "Yeah, you've slept for like a day and a half. You woke up, sort of I guess, like two or three times to pee or get water, but you weren't awake really."
"Oh. Oh! Lau! I've got to get to the hospital!" His hunger forgotten he started back toward his room. "Thea could you get me a car? Do I have any clean clothes?"
"Larry! Slow down! Stop."
"Lau is going to wonder where I am Thea. He doesn't need to worry about that, he just needs to get better. He shouldn't be alone, he needs me."
"Your mother and Elodie have been with him every moment. Elodie has kept me updated on everything." She laid her hand lightly on his tattooed forearm, "You need to stay here for a couple of days, rest...and eat something."
"What has Elodie said?" he asked tentatively.
"He's the same Larry, no change."
His eyes dropped to her hand on his arm. She went to pull it away but he grabbed it before she could. Taking it in both hands he ran his thumbs over her silky skin and watched the chill bumps race up her arm. He raised it to his lips and softly kissed the tips of her fingers. A small breath escaped her lips and looked up to see her cheeks flushed and lips slightly parted. All he wanted to do in that moment was to take her into his arms and make love to her right there. He wanted to feel connected and alive with her. But his discomfort with intimacy and divided attention stopped him. He bit his bottom lip and grinned at her.
"I'll be back in thirty minutes or a little less." He halted her protests with a shake of his twist-covered head, "no, no, I'm just going to the studio. I haven't been moving, my body is sore."
Thea watched him until the door shut behind him then finally allowed herself a full breath. She felt flushed and more than a little endeared by Larry's shyness. She was having a difficult time refocusing. She wanted to go watch him dance, it had been so long since she had seen him truly freestyle. The tour had put such heavy demands on the boys that neither had danced for themselves much in the last six months. Her hesitation came because Larry was so fiercely private and she hadn't been invited. No, Thea, you have other things to do, she reminded herself. So she started gathering her things, got all of the food put away so he could eat it later, freshened up a bit, then looked at the clock. Ten minutes, that's all!? She whined inwardly and plopped down on a kitchen stool. That lasted two fidgety minutes and she found herself walking out the door and toward the studio.
