The last 15 days of my life

Chapter 3

DAY 2

If you would have asked me two days ago what was the worst way of waking up, I would have said to my alarm clock. But now I have to change my opinion.

Nightmares, those are the worst.

I've been waking up at 5:00 am because of them. I've been dreaming about the Elixir, that I couldn't reach it, and I die.

And that's when I wake up.

I sit up on my bed and run a hand through my hair.

After finding the first part of the map, I went straight home and fell asleep.

Now I was just there, sitting on my bed, trying to solve the riddle.

I thought about places in the west part of New York,oceans,rivers or...

The Niagara Falls! It was about the only natural course in New York.

I have to find the second part of the map in twenty-four hours and there is a huge possibility that it is, indeed, at The Niagara Falls, but how do I get there?

Taxi? To expensive.

Helicopter? Where do I even get one? Better not.

The tour ride? Yeah, why not.

Okay, so now I need to buy a ticket.

I searched for a box office near my house or near my school. I found one 3 miles from my house. I went to the place and bought a ticket.

"The tour will leave at 12:00 p.m." said the lady that sold me the ticket.

"Thanks,I'll wait here" I said and walked away.

As the time passed, more people arrived. It was 11:45 p.m and the tour bus had not yet arrived.

When it finally did, people started to fill the bus, and I sat in one of the seats at the back.

On the way, I put on my headphones and turned on my music. Apparently, I fell asleep because the next time I woke up, The bus had arrived to the Niagara Falls.

The Niagara Falls were really beautiful! But I needed to focus on the second part of the map. Okay, the first part said something about a dark place, so what could be a dark place?

A dark chocolate factory? No! You need to focus on finding the map, not eating!

Well... a dark place... Lord Voldermort's house maybe?

A cave!

But, where do I find a cave here?

I saw a guy that worked here and asked him:

"Hey! Do you know if there's a cave anywhere near here?" I asked.

"Well I actually have no idea about a cave near here, but there's this legend about a cave that was behind the falls, that holds a witch treasure." He said.

"Okay, thanks! Do you know how can I get there?" I asked him, hopping that he would answer me that there is a way.

"You must prevail..." He said as if he was in a trance."Wait...what?" He asked me.

As if I should know...

"You were telling me how to get to the cave." I said a little confused, and then I remembered that in the first part it said '...you must prevail...' "You know what, forget it." I told him.

"Okay, well have a nice day." He smiled and walk away.

"Thanks, you too." I said rapidly and walked to the boat that would take me and others to the falls.

We boarded the boat and sat down on the chairs that were there and then I saw it.

The cave behind the falls.It was a deep,dim and little dirty hole in the stone behind the water that flowed down the falls.

A dark place,the cave was certainly dark and I really believe that the second part was there.

But how to get there?

The way I saw it there were two options, I could either jump from the boat to get there, or I could simply wait fifteen days and die.

I think my decision was quite obvious.

As I jumped from the boat, people screamed at me to get back on, but I ignored them.

I swam to the stone and pulled myself up from the water.

I stared at the cave's entrance and panicked, but no matter how much I didn't want to go in, I realized that if I didn't want to die, I had to, so I went in.
